More portfolio space: Your EntryThingy update

You get more portfolio space now as an artist at EntryThingy

Store more art, build your website, and apply faster

Last month, we rebuilt your portfolio into a website you can share with anyone. You can choose a theme and layout, add a tagline, and decide whether to show prices. If you missed it, here’s a quick look:

This month, we’re giving you much more room to fill it. You can store more of your art in one place, use those same pieces to build your public portfolio website, and prepare applications faster.

Add each piece once, then reuse it across future applications without uploading the same file again. You can also keep recent work and complete series organized and ready whenever you need them.

To give you that extra room, we increased the limits on every plan. The Free plan alone has grown from 3 pieces to 25.

Here’s the before and after:

  • Free: 3 → 25 pieces

  • Basic: 50 → 250 pieces

  • Standard: 200 → 750 pieces

  • Connoisseur: 500 → 2,000 pieces

  • Studio: 5,000 → 10,000 pieces

🔔 You may already know where to find it, but here’s a quick reminder: Go to My Art → Portfolio, then select Add Artwork.

You can also select My Subscription from the same page to check your current plan. Compare it with the new limits above to see how much space you now have.

More space doesn’t mean you need to show everything

The new limits let you save more of your work in EntryThingy, but that doesn’t mean every piece needs to appear in your public portfolio or in every application.

When a gallery or juror looks at your work, they should be able to understand your practice quickly. Start with your strongest and most recent pieces, especially the ones that feel connected. If an older piece no longer represents the work you make today, don't include it.

This is also a good time to check that each piece has a title, medium, dimensions, year, and price where relevant.

📌 We explain everything in our guide 6 portfolio mistakes we see most often in juried shows, including showing too much work, using weak images, and mixing pieces that don’t feel connected.

Before you submit, check these important things

Once you’ve chosen the work you want to include, take a few minutes to check the rest of your application:

  • Does your work match the call and its requirements?

  • Are your images clear and formatted correctly?

  • Are your artist statement, bio, and artwork details complete and up to date?

We put together a full checklist explaining what to review before submitting and what to do after you apply. 📌 Check the full art submission checklist.

And before you go, don’t forget to keep an eye on the EntryThingy blog (we regularly publish original data and practical advice for artists there), and give us a follow on Instagram 🩷 (if you haven’t already).

That is everything for September. As always, reply to this email and you will reach us directly.
