Tip: #109: Interview Safety [PRIDE]

You are free to leave even though it is against social norms. Just remember to tell them in a calm voice that the interview is over and to disregard your application.

Let me know if you have any LGBTQIA+ related job searching questions. My goal is to have a LGBTQIA+ focused tip each week in the month of June. I cannot help with employment related questions because that dips into employment law and I am not an attorney.

Edwin, an anthropomorphic jackrabbit, is wearing a business casual outfit and has a grumpy expression on his face. He gives job searching tips by speaking directly to the reader using a dialogue bubble. Edwin says,
"You are allowed to leave an interview at any time. You may do so because you feel unsafe, that your privacy is not being respected, that you are treated unfairly, or any other reason. Make sure to tell them that you are leaving the interview and to disregard your application. You won’t get the job, but you don’t want to work for them!"
