okay so. they paid me. they actually paid me. you remember the gig I was whining about? the twelve-hour ambient loop for the new waiting hall at Hovedbanen? I got the green light and they want it RAW. no smoothing, no de-noising, none of the auto-pretty the station boards usually run. just Vesterbro at four in the morning, for travellers to sit inside.
so last night I'm out on the fire escape above the tattoo place with the little stereo rig, in that horrible anorak you tried to throw out, holding the boom over Saxogade like it owed me money. and Vesterbro DELIVERED, Iben. a fox. an actual fox. a 24-hr bodega arguing with its own delivery drone in polite Danish. somebody upstairs playing a viola, badly, with feeling. one cyclist singing Kim Larsen.
the planners want "calm." I'm giving them honest. let some tired commuter sit there at 06:40 and hear a fox screaming softly two streets over from where they live.
I bought proper coffee with the deposit. and a pastry. and I thought of you.
