Postkort fra 2042: The Room That Knew You Were Coming

Kære Kasper,
The tomatoes are climbing higher than Preben's old trellis this year — I can barely reach the top ones without the step-ladder. The garden sensor tells me they need water, but I told it to be quiet and let me decide. Some things a person wants to do herself.
The house knew you were coming before I did. The temperature in your old room shifted an hour after you tapped your rejsekort at Aarhus Central. I stood in the doorway and felt the air turn warm. It smelled of... well, it smelled like nothing important. Like a room waiting. But it made me stand there longer than I meant to.
I found the drawing you did of Bastian — Oskar's cat, remember? — behind the radiator. It's in the kitchen now. Next to Preben's terrible coffee mug.
Come hungry. The rhubarb is endless.
Bedste hilsner, Birthe
