Postkort fra 2049: The Bracelet in the Sock Drawer

Kære Alma,
Okay so they gave us the new bracelets at school. Everyone got one. It's grey, kind of soft, and it buzzes when you're "drifting" — that's what Mr. Holm calls it, drifting. It's supposed to keep your attention on the lesson. ↗ (little arrow pointing at the word drifting)
I wore it for two days. On Tuesday it buzzed twelve times during math. I was NOT drifting. I was drawing a dragon with three wings (it works, I figured out the balance) and that is also thinking, Alma, that is thinking with a pencil.
So I put it in my sock drawer.
Bastian sleeps on top of the sock drawer now, so the bracelet is also being guarded by a cat, which I think is fair. Mum noticed but she just said "we'll talk about it." She hasn't talked about it. I think she put hers somewhere too. There's a faint line on her wrist where it used to be.
I'm not going to be in trouble. I checked. The school rule says you have to "have" one. It doesn't say where.
The lilacs by the church are out. They smell like the inside of an old book. I will draw you one.
Oskar (og Bastian)
