Postkort fra 2037: Community Sanitation Hub

Community Sanitation Hub

Chidi,

You know how I used to say Copenhagen was too quiet? Now the benches talk. They installed these "neighborhood memory" seats all down Østerbrogade — you sit down, a sensor notices you're there, and a voice starts telling you about the old dairy, or the textile shops, or the Nigerian families who moved here in the 2020s. Including ours. The plaque outside the new Føtex says great-aunt Nkechi ran a "community sanitation hub." She had a laundromat, Chidi. A very ordinary laundromat.

I laughed so hard the system flagged my emotional state as "disengaged."

But then I stayed. Because underneath the city branding, the streets are still ours. The map is just catching up.

The flower lady on the corner refuses to use the benches. Says she has her own archive. The other day she told me about a wedding on this corner in 2031, and I knew not to check the official record. Hers was better.

Come visit. I'll show you which stories are worth sitting for.

M
