We started keeping score. From now on the newsletter opens with what you actually played the most this month, not what we felt like hyping. No view counts, no dashboards β just the order, and from next week, whoβs climbing and whoβs getting bumped. Consider this the opening bell.
The Charts
The inaugural board. Everythingβs a debut this week, so nobodyβs been knocked off yet β that bloodsport starts next issue.
- AVE β Meet Me In The Dark β top of the very first chart. You have taste. Listen β
- MXTR & Tyler Garrett β Disconnected β refused to leave the rotation. Listen β
- Don Toliver β Cardigan (Knock2 Remix) β the Knock2 flip did its job. Listen β
- RL Grime & ISOxo β Jewel β two of the heaviest names in the game, behaving accordingly. Listen β
- HEDEGAARD, Arash β Say My Name β snuck into the top five on pure replay value. Listen β
- J Ribbon β Man On Fire β earned it. Listen β
- Omar Souleyman β Allishiryan β the one nobody saw coming and everybody kept playing. Listen β
- Quoone β Donβt Stop β took the title literally. Listen β
- SubDocta, Wubbaduck β Wobble Dance β WAKAAN weirdness, charting. Good. Listen β
- Surreal β Inbetween β scraped onto the board and weβre glad it did. Listen β
Track of the Week
AVE β Meet Me In The Dark
Itβs number one because you put it there, not because we told you to β which is exactly the point of doing this. Itβs the kind of track that quietly becomes the one you reach for, and apparently a lot of you reached. Listen β
The New Drops
Sixty-three new ones hit the site this week. The split:
Electronic (27) β the big tent did most of the heavy lifting, as usual.
Drum & Bass (13) β second place and not even close for the runner-up. DnB had a week.
House (9) / Deep House (6) β four-on-the-floor stayed busy on both ends of the temperature scale.
Trance (8) β hands stayed in the air, led by Above & Beyond β 1001 (Live From ABGT200) doing exactly what an ABGT moment should.
Experimental Bass (6) / Hardstyle (6) β the weird and the relentless, tied. Chozen b2b Noetika β Live Red Rocks Set for the former, D-Charged β RE:WIND for the latter.
Also banged this week:
- 2ACES & Josh Le Tissier β Like Home β clean. Listen β
- Benda & Z3LLA β Sleepless β dubstep that earns the title. Listen β
- Don Jamal β Breaking Through β deep dubstep, low and patient. Listen β
See you next week β when the chart finally has arrows. Coldplay still sucks.
