28 tracks went up last week and the queue decided this was Indie Electronic Week. 7 of them. MRD had a one-man remix festival (4 entries). And out of nowhere, a Syrian dabke track snuck in and ate the whole thing.

This is the surprise. Nobody opens an electronic music blog expecting Syrian dabke and that is exactly why it is the pick. Omar Souleyman has been doing this for forty years and “Allishiryan” still hits like he just discovered the genre yesterday. Listen →

The Breakdown

Indie electronic (7 posts). It ate. We Are Chambord posted twice and earned both. ZEP, SAMA, RØUKH, Leo Pol, RaphaelPalacci all carrying weight.

Electronic (5 posts). Mostly the MRD remix bonanza. Tiga did the standout one. Cold, mechanical, properly weird.

House (4 posts). Quiet but consistent. Sebastian Wibe’s “breathe (i need to)” doing the heavy lifting.

Trap (4 posts). SPAG, SPYR, ROSSY, Mikes Revenge. Capital-letter energy across the board.

Progressive house (3 posts). Nicky Romero credited on two tracks Almero probably actually made.

Wave (3 posts). Tove Lo did a wave song. That counts now.
