In the meantime, come discuss plant intelligence at Consumption Book Club <3 at 4pm on July 26. We’ll be atop a rooftop garden, eating delicious plant-based foods, mocktails, doing artful activities that connect us to the enchanting umwelt of flora.

Based on The Light Eaters by Zoë Schlanger, come hungry to learn more about plant sensorium and plant intelligence. Also come hungry for delicious food, because there will be plenty. We’re pleased to collaborate this time, too, with a variety of talented chefs — much delicious food to sate your senses!

Chimeras Collective is all about re-enchanting urban ecology, and we’re so pleased to host this upcoming CBC at Kingsland Wildflowers with Noo Arts … a rooftop garden full of native pollinator plants embedded within an industrial Greenpoint landscape. Overlooking the onion-shaped domes of the Newtown Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant, plants intertwine and communicate in ways we are just beginning to understand. Come witness the great ecological ironies of our city and chart a path forward to co-habitation and symbiosis with our plant neighbors.

Tickets are sliding scale $30-50 — as always, we’re building something primarily outside of traditional social media platforms, so sharing with any networks or individuals who might have an interest in joining is greatly greatly appreciated ✿
