TikTok launches a conversational shopping assistant in its feed

Short-video social app with a large in-app shopping marketplace (TikTok Shop).

Announced Oct 5 at Advertising Week New York and beginning to roll out to US users: a Shopping Assistant that answers product, sizing, shipping and availability questions, remembers preferences through the conversation, and helps complete a purchase, alongside one-click "Buy Direct" checkout. Built under TikTok's "Agentic Commerce" program with Salesforce, Shopify, Shoplazza and Stripe. Buy Direct is US-only for now, with a global rollout planned.
