DoorDash's text-to-order agent: early testing turned up errors

US food and retail delivery marketplace.

Launched this week (Sept 30, 2026): Bloomberg's testing of an early version of Text DoorDash found errors, including prices that differed from the app and photos that didn't match the recommendation. An analyst note says early agent traffic produced baskets about two-thirds smaller. DoorDash cautions the AI can make mistakes, tells customers to review carts before paying, and says waitlist users will get an updated version. Sentiment: mixed.
