Scalable Capital launched “Agentic Investing,” letting customers link their brokerage account to ChatGPT, Claude, or Grok via the Model Context Protocol (MCP) and then trade, set up savings plans, manage watchlists, and set price alerts through natural conversation with those assistants. Scalable frames it as a European first for an ECB-licensed bank; the service is live for customers in Germany, Austria, France, Italy, Spain, and the Netherlands.

UK's top homewares retailer launches Gemini-powered “Ask Dunelm” shopping agent

Dunelm — UK's leading homewares and soft furnishings retailer (FTSE 250).

Dunelm launched “Ask Dunelm,” a multimodal AI shopping agent live in its iOS app, built on Google Cloud's Gemini Enterprise for Customer Experience suite. Customers describe what they want in their own words, ask open-ended product questions, visualise items in their homes, and get tailored recommendations on style, budget, and room planning. Dunelm says it's one of the first UK retailers to launch this generation of multimodal shopping agent.

iPhone maker quietly rolls out AI shopping assistant inside its own Store app

Apple — consumer electronics giant; largest tech company by market cap, sells directly via its own Apple Store app and website.

A new AI-powered chat interface began appearing in the Apple Store iOS app for a limited set of users starting August 24, replacing the search icon with a “sparkles” chat bubble. It handles open-ended natural-language questions about products, existing orders, trade-in values, carrier offers, and financing options, with suggested prompts like “Help me choose a Watch” or “Compare iPad lineup.” Apple hasn't issued an official press release — this looks like a staged early-preview rollout — but it's independently corroborated with hands-on screenshots by multiple tech outlets.
