Latest from AnimeChicago

• Our two discussion groups, Anime Circle and Manga Circle, continue their streak of robust attendance numbers and engaging conversation. We’ve covered everything from the red-hot Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime to the highly influential Drifting Classroom manga. Save your seat for our upcoming discussions!

• We got a taste of the new shows at our most recent Anime Sampler. Of course, the general buzz was for Chainsaw Man, but don't sleep on other shows that caught attendee eyes like Bochi the Rock and Blue Lock.

• Thanks to the AnimeChicagoans who joined us for another large in-person mixer, this time at Off Color Brewing's Mouse Trap. Our next mixer will be online, so even easier to attend!

Upcoming Events

• That Online Mixer mentioned above happens this Thursday, November 3rd at 7 PM. We promise, it will be the best online meeting you've had in a long time. Let's meet and chat anime!

• AnimeChicago's 16th Anniversary is coming up in November! Expect some exciting news coming real soon, including the launch of our first podcast!

Beyond AnimeChicago

• Japanese media congolmerate KADOKAWA just purchased long-time journalism outlet Anime News Network. So… how long until Sony buys KADOKAWA? 🧐

• Fall's a good time to get cozy, and what better anime to get cozy with than Yuru Camp? Although we don't have a US release date for the movie, we now know that Season 3 is in production!

• If you're wondering why the Chainsaw Man anime is so good, it might have to do with the manga creator being heavily involved. We've come a long way from adaptations having little to no original creator input.

• You probably didn't know you needed more Purple Laser of Death in your life, but Hideaki Anno has been delivering it since way back in the Nausicaa days.
