It's that time of year again...

You know, it's cold out. You have a backlog of anime to stream. Probably some blankets, a warm beverage... wait. You haven't finished your holiday shopping AND you have plans with the family all through December? Guess the backlog will just get bigger. But don't put off these great AnimeChicago events!

Latest from AnimeChicago

• We're excited for the launch of Anime's Game Changers – our first podcast series. Each episode covers a person, idea, or event that shaped the anime we love. Our first episode goes deep on Studio Trigger director Hiroyuki Imaishi. Listen now on our website and coming soon to wherever you get your podcasts.

• Believe it or not, AnimeChicago recently celebrated its 16th anniversary! We celebrated with a ramen lunch at Rakkan Ramen. Look for similar events in the future!

• Double up your donation! To help reach our 2022 fundraising goal, an anonymous donor is matching up to $300 in total donations. Find out more here.

Upcoming Events

• Ever done an Anime White Elephant gift exchange? Well, now's your chance at our last in-person mixer of 2022. We’re returning to the Beermiscuous cellar for the first time since the pandemic! RSVP now – seats are nearly gone.

• Just in time for the holidays, our next Anime Circle discussion will cover Satoshi Kon's Christmastime romp Tokyo Godfathers.

Beyond AnimeChicago

• An anime series based on a fantasy novel with scripts written by noted anime director Mamoru Oshii? Sign us up!

• Finally, the fantastic A Place Further than the Universe is getting a North American Blu-Ray release.

• Ghibli Park in Japan has opened and we want to go to there. You might even see Hayao Miyazaki! Or, at least a convincing lookalike.
