Northern Ireland Riots

Perhaps because I am a glutton for punishment or because as I feel like my life in the states is in danger as an immigrant, I have hyper-fixated on the Northern Ireland Riots and general, riots in Europe involving migration.

There was a stabbing in Belfast, right-wing activists took and ran with it, inciting violence which ended with 27 people homeless. There’s this suffocating burden of the immigrant identity, and in both America and Europe, more and more give into the reactionary backlash against migrants and refugees.

There have been some positive news, such as people rallying together but as Wired points out this is a larger, well-organize, and well-funded effort, so one one hand is not as genuine as the internet might have you believe but well-organized and well-funded go far in this world.

Cuba

From Democracy! Now, Cuba responds to Rubios’s despicable new round of sanctions:

“In response, Cuba’s Foreign Affairs Minister Bruno Rodríguez said on social media, “The US Secretary of State, driven by … the vindictive sentiments of the elitist clique that propelled his political career, is now further tightening the [blockade]. To justify this, he doesn’t resort to excuses prepared by his State Department, but rather to the usual vulgar lies.”

Okay, I wish I wrote like Cory Doctorow; he is someone who I read daily or gather his articles so I can sit down for a second and read.

It’s also because he shares so many interesting things! Like the customer rage survey and boy, people are mad, because without any regulation and with Trump back in the WH, corporations are being absolutely depraved.
