I was pondering…what would I name a newsletter? It would be daily dysphoria! Why? Well, because that is how I feel daily and especially about the news.
Maybe this will be a larger newsletter—I do not know.
OK DAILY! DYSPHORIA—JUNE 11TH 2026.
I mean, what else is new? What else is not new? There is an entirety of powerlessness within me, and maybe why so many Americans are desperate for a sign-off button, which might explain the second section of frustrations. The thing about a cease-fire is that a lot of the times is so the news cycle can reset. Settler violence in Israel never stops. It’s perhaps one of the times America has cared enough about foreign policy but it comes from a place of grievance and tiredness, maybe with a mix of compassion, but once a cease fire is in place, everyone can ignore what happens, even the breaks of ceasefires.
I do not have much to say except to share where I get some of my news every day, let me know of anything I might miss
And even as Americans clamor for more Anti-Israeli policies, there’s silence regarding the crackdown on Palestinians supporters. Onto the domestic, moving on.
since you are here, know where we stand: I hate Graham Planter, and I hate what it means to blindly support him. I have advocated for Palestine for about twelve years now, I am liberal-allergic communist (but not an illiberal one if that makes sense?) so, it is funny when I am accused of being a zionist (especially recently since I have adopted my crypto-jew identity—one day I will explain.)
The thing is that I was born in El Salvador, two years after the peace accords, and imperialism will forever be my first wound. Graham Planter is a former marine with a Nazi-tattoo, spotty comment history, demeaning towards women, just fucking dumb as fuck, BUT it is his complex relationship with the military and complex is being incredible generous. Planter volunteered for the Iraq war, protested said war before joining, joined as mercenary and when asked about historical wars, he’d love to fight in VIETNAM and even better EL SALVADOR.
How do you explain to someone wishing that he could go back in time so he could fight one of the bloodiest, dirty, civil wars fueled by American money that your family survived is NOT someone you hope your friends would support?
In America, it is impossible. Perhaps in any country it would be hard to disparage someone who wears the identity of a broken veteran, because in the West, they will always matter more than victims of imperialism. So, I guess what I hate Planter the most for making me wake-up that if there is any left-of-center politics there will never be any room for anti-imperialism.
Moving on.
In Spanish, when we say AI, we say, IA or “inteligencia artificial.”
So, I am tying here my dysphoric thoughts on LatAm, AI/IA, and this is without even thinking about Cuba—sin palabras.
As mentioned, I was born in El Salvador. El Salvador since 2021 has been in a state of exemption. In 2025, these worlds collided when Bukele accepted deportees into El Salvador’s horrible black hole where people have been in there for years and Bukele glibly gloats how no one gets out known as CECOT. Where I live and where I come have formed an unholy matrimony.
From there on, there has been a staggering, organized right-wing shift in Latin America, from Chile, Argentina to Honduras—a populist revolution fueled by “law and order.”
And we can tie all together with Hondurasgate.
Hondurasgate are leaked messages where there’s proven collusion between American right-wing, Israel, and the right-wing politics of Honduras elite. Israel has had a foothold in Latin America from Christian evangelism, and there’s alleged plans to come closer to leaders of LatAm, and introduce “tech learning center.”
These are the things making me dysphoric. I don’t know if I’ll keep the name, or if I’ll make another newsletter (haha, adhd), but thank you for letting me excise my demons. Sign up! I will 80% write again!
