Lots of good information here!
However I have a couple of suggestions that would have made my experience much better.
I use a screen reader )jaws) to hear the content read to me. I do have some vision though, and I feel much more comfortable when reading content if I can actually see the content that is being read. Because this content is contained within a scrollable content area, I cannot see some of the content as it is being read, unless I stop the reading and then scroll the content using the mouse wheel. If this content area was in the tab order, then the normal keyboard navigation would work and the page would scroll as the reading extended beyond the current screen area.
I think it would have helped if you had used headings to indicate different sections within this post.
