Wreck Your Own Adventure Newsletter 3-8-26: Give Us Money

Greetings, Wrecking Crew!

I hope this newsletter finds you well.

Tomorrow is the second and final week of WFMU’s annual two-week fundraising marathon. This is where you give us money so we can stay on the air. And you get PRIZES! Really good PRIZES!

Here’s one of the premiums available this year, for a monthly pledge of $41.66 (you get lots of other stuff at this pledge level, by the way).
A lovely red hoodie with the record-chomping cat logo designed by Akira Yonekawa.

See what the rest of the prizes are, and pledge to my show, right here: https://pledge.wfmu.org/donate?program=wy&step=landing

During Marathon, DJs — most of whom broadcast solo — pair up for fun, banter-filled tag teams.

This week, I’m co-hosting for Doug, Drummer Stream’s founder and fearless leader. Tune in for that this Friday from 9am-noon here: https://wfmu.org/playlists/DS

I’m also co-hosting for Irene Trudel — without whom I wouldn’t be on Drummer Stream, thanks to her patient and expert audio tech support. We’re on tomorrow from noon-3pm, right after my show. Hear it here: https://wfmu.org/playlists/shows/161994

Uncle Michael, host of Hinky Dinky Time, will be my co-host tomorrow. It’s going to be really fun. I co-hosted for Uncle Michael three years ago and we had a great time kibbitzing on the air.

Here I am wearing my Official Hinky Dinky Time shirt, with occasional (and sometimes shy) co-host DJ Fleafella.

You can pledge to my show right now by going here.

BUT, you may want to wait until tomorrow.

WHY?

Because I’m giving away four excellent prizes at various points during my show, and you have to pledge during my show.

These require a minimum pledge of $25:
Ibex Band - Stereo Instrumental Music - LP
V/A - Volcanic Tongue: A Time-Travelling Evangelist’s Guide to Late 20th Century Underground Music - LP (this is a compilation)
V/A - Tomorrow’s Fashions: Library Electronica 1972-1987 - CD (this is a compilation)

Pledges of $50 or more to my show, again, DURING MY SHOW tomorrow, will put you in the running for the grand prize. It’s a double-CD box set of a stunning compilation: Jon Savage’s The Secret Public: How the LGBTQ+ Aesthetic Shaped Pop Culture 1955-1979.

Regular listeners to my show will be familiar with these four albums because I’ve played them quite a bit. Tomorrow you can win them!

Pledges of $75 or more either during my show tomorrow or any time will get you this year’s marathon premium from my show, a compilation CD I put together called No Songs About Buildings; Just Food. Here’s the cover:

I made it.

I’ll play tracks from all of these albums — the three prizes, the grand prize, and my marathon premium, tomorrow on Wreck Your Own Adventure on WFMU’s Give the Drummer Radio
I’m on from 9am-noon.

See you on the radio!
