Greetings, Wrecking Crew!

HAPPY SPRING!

It’s my favorite season of all, even here in Vermont where it might still snow… in May!
So far I’ve seen many maple trees tapped and I’ve driven on exactly one muddy road. (I try to avoid dirt roads during mud season, but I was going to the bakery! Priorities!)

Not only is it springtime, but it’s anniversary time here at Wreck Your Own Adventure, my radio show which airs on WFMU’s Give the Drummer Radio every Monday from 9am-noon (ET).

The very first episode of The Wreck aired on March 27, 2023. Oh, what a time that was. Even though at that point I’d been doing radio for…uh…25 years — (OMG! Never do math!) — I was so nervous, it was like I’d never seen this side of a console before.

That could happen tomorrow. It’s been two weeks since I’ve been on the radio (many thanks to dB for filling in for me) and the last two episodes of The Wreck were marathon shows. Very different from my typical shenanigans. I hope I remember how to do radio.

Meanwhile, a fun thing I did today that I’d love to share with you: I took a class called “Fantasy Map Making” at the art store in my village. It was so much fun! I’m really proud of my map and I’d like to show it to you. Its actual size is 6” x 8”, so it’s not very big. But, I managed to cram two amusement parks, two whales, two farms, and an elephant in there. See if you can find them.

I love making stuff.

REMINDER: The following week (3/30) I welcome Official Bellows Falls Yacht Club bandleader (and member of Countermoon) Karl Ward for a live solo set and a buncha gabbing. Mark your calendars. It’s gonna be fun. There may even be a special guest or two.
