Neighbor Tip of the Week
|
🦌 Deer season just started. Watch your commute.
Deer breeding season runs mid-October through November, and that's when they're most active on the roads. October through December is peak season for deer crashes in Maryland. How to avoid one: Slow down at dawn and dusk. If you see one deer, expect more right behind it. If a crash is unavoidable, brake firmly and stay in your lane rather than swerving. And skip the deer whistles: they've never been proven to work. More deer safety tips.

Did You Know · 21043
Ellicott City's "haunted castle" is still standing.
Lilburn was built on College Avenue in 1857 for Henry Richard Hazlehurst, a Baltimore iron foundry owner, and its bell tower and stone turrets still loom over the historic district. The ghost stories come from real tragedy: in the years after the Civil War, Hazlehurst lost his wife and three daughters. A 1923 fire later gutted the front parlor and interior. Ellicott City is often called the most haunted town in Maryland, and Lilburn is a big reason why.
