Hi, folks! I had intended to get something out by mid-month, but things got a little off-center after my gallbladder surgery. I hope everyone is enjoying the back half of their summer. We havenβt had a single chance to get into the pool in our apartment complex yet and the hottest week was, of course, the week immediately following my surgery, so I couldnβt go in the pool in the first place! What a bummer! Virginia sure hasnβt disappointed with the hot temps this year, though, my gosh! Thereβs still about a month left before the kids head back to school, so there should still be some time!
Continuing from that, if you follow me on any social media platform or you are in my Discord server, you know that my partner took an extra day off to help me during my immediate post-op recovery and, instead of being able to swap days off or use PTO (they didnβt have enough to cover it), they just lost an entire dayβs worth of pay. Unfortunately, this has caused a chain reaction in the following weeks and weβre in a really rough spot financially. This is/was really not my intent with getting this newsletter up and running, but we could really use some extra help this month with covering rent/bills and groceries.
Iβm in the process of making some more things for my storefront (which you can find here), but I do still have a small amount of products listed available to ship immediately. I also have tarot readings available on my Ko-Fi commissions page (found here). You can also use Ko-Fi to simply tip me (if you enjoy the variety of things I put out into the world) or similar.
Having said all that, what I'd really like to talk about is the fact that there's less than a hundred days until Halloween and I haven't even started on making anything Halloween-themed! I feel like this happens every year with every holiday... Oops. Maybe once all three of my kids are in school full-time, I'll be more organized with this stuff. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays, though, and it's a good time for me to look for stuff I want to keep in my house year-round!
To wrap up, here's a couple things I've been enjoying recently:
Book - Moonsingers by Robyn J. Pritzker
Show - City Council of Darkness on Dropout (Dimension 20)
Music - Not by Big Thief
As always, feel free to reply to this email with any thoughts or if you want to tell me what you've been up to lately!
Thanks for being here, Mary π
