Painting, printmaking, PA Day, and more!
Hi everyone,
Our first week with two Hot Pizza locations was a success! Ten courses, after-school pickups from six schools, a TDSB field trip with 43 students, a Girl Guides troop visit, a birthday party, a Saturday Comics session, a Mother’s Day extravaganza, and a partridge in a pear tree (?).
Thank you to everyone who celebrated with us at the College Street open house, to everyone who signed up for these and other sessions, and to the talented artists who have joined us as teachers on this journey.
As with any independent family business, opening a second location is a risk, and we already feel like we made the right decision. We believe in art for everyone, and as I’ve been joking, now we get to share the fun and satisfaction of art-making with twice the everyone!
Grateful,
Brian and Julia
Deluxe Studio with founder Julia Dault

This coming Saturday, Julia is hosting Deluxe Studio—a one-off interdisciplinary session for adults. We’ll learn to draw (and practice) proper facial proportions; experiment with oil pastels and still life; and build compositions with watercolours (including liquid watercolours!) and acrylic paint. All levels welcome, and we’ll provide all the materials.
May 23: Adult/kid painting, printmaking

On Saturday, May 23, we’re offering sessions focused on painting and printmaking for adults & kids together. Come be creative alongside your young ones! These sessions also make a great gift for friends.
At Osler St., join Julia for a fun, low-pressure chance to play with water-based paints (tempera, acrylic, and watercolour) while learning practical skills like colour mixing, brush control, layering, and more.
At College St., join artist Paul Dotey for a family-friendly session featuring a variety of printmaking techniques and create a stack of beautiful prints to take home. No sharp tools—just sharp insights into the multi-step printmaking process!
June 5 is the last PA Day of the school year

If we’re going by registrations, this week parents realized there’s one more PA Day in the 2025–26 school year. If you don’t have that Friday off work, consider sending your kids to Hot Pizza, where we’ll paint, draw, make comics, and get up to lots of other creative fun. Spots are going fast!
