Draw it all—faces, figures, food, and more!
Hi everyone,
Our farm share has finally begun delivering something other than root vegetables—thank goodness!—just in time for Hot Pizza’s Illustrated Recipes workshop. It’s one of two brand-new offerings we’re spotlighting this week. All three will help you to learn something new in a supportive environment where you don’t get in your own way. Read on for details!
Heading to the kitchen,

Speed Portraiture

Saturday, May 30, 7:30–9:30 p.m. at 1152 College St.
Speed dating comes with pressure. Speed portraiture is all joy. Practice your drawing skills while meeting cool people—and bring home a stack of portraits of you. Every skill level welcome, and there’s no time for perfectionism or preciousness. Draw each other, have great conversations, and feel free! Led by Hot Pizza faculty Danielle Taschereau Mamers.
Clothed Life Drawing—new offering!

Sunday, May 31, 10 a.m.–12 p.m. at 134 Osler St.
Why should grownups have all the fun? This playful, confidence-building session turns our favourite life-drawing class into an all-ages affair. We’ll learn useful basics like gesture drawing, proportion, and how to capture movement in the presence of a friendly model. Simple materials and quick prompts mean everyone can jump in, laugh a little, and take home some drawings and go-to skills you can use anytime you sketch someone. Led by Hot Pizza faculty Kelly Rose Adams.
Illustrated Recipes—new offering!

Saturday, June 6, 7:30–9:30 p.m. at 134 Osler St.
Join Sarah Aranha in this workshop focused on food! Using watercolour and mixed-media (think coloured pencils and collage), we’ll learn to paint our favourite recipes on gorgeous paper, which you’ll take home to cherish (and cook with!). Sarah has the uncanny ability of making watercolours accessible and revelatory in their sumptuous beauty. This is the best way to capture culinary delights—keep what you make in your house, or use it as a one-of-a-kind gift!
