Join us for a mini-Twitter & Facebook 101 training with the Escondido Chamber of Citizen on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 @ 6:30 PM at 649 West Mission Avenue, Escondido, CA 92025. Note that the time has been moved from 7:00 PM to 6:30 PM. Sorry for the inconveniences! The training is aimed for those who are unfamiliar with the services and those who are familiar but hesitant about using new technology.

Note that we’re cancelling our meetup at the San Diego's Easter Eggstravaganza on Saturday, April 1, 2017. Planning is underway for another protest rally against Rep. Hunter on Saturday, most likely the same time and place. More info is forthcoming!

Contact Governor Brown, Senator Anderson and Assemblymember Waldron and ask them to support SB-54 (California Values Act). SB-54 passed the Appropriations Committee and is set for a third reading in the CA Senate today. See California Values Act (SB 54).

Contact Rep. Hunter and ask him to vote against S.J.Res.34 (& H.J.Res.86) which allows your internet provider to sell your browsing data. The resolution was passed in the Senate, and it is scheduled for a hearing in the House Rules Committee today. See Senate votes to let ISPs sell your Web browsing history to advertisers.

Follow-up with Senator Anderson and explain why you’re in favor of SB-149 which requires presidential candidates to release their last 5 tax returns to be listed on CA election ballot. The Judiciary Committee, of which Senator Anderson is a member, scheduled a hearing for the bill today. Talking points: During the campaign, President Trump promises to release his tax returns and he has yet to fulfill his promise. We, the public, deserve transparency and honesty from our president and future president candidates.

Contact Rep. Hunter and ask him to co-sponsor H.Res.186 to direct the Secretary of the Treasury to provide the President’s the tax returns. Markup for H.Res. 186 by the Ways and Means committee is set for today. Talking points: Accountability and transparency are high priorities for Rep. Hunter given his promise to cooperate with the Department of Justice’s investigation, and he should demand the same of the president. See House Resolution 186: Demand President Trump's Tax Returns.

Contact Rep. Hunter and ask when is his next town hall. Script: “Hi, I’m a constituents from [City, Zip Code], and I heard on the news that Rep. Hunter is under criminal investigation for campaign funds misuse. When is he planning to hold his next town hall that he promised his constituents? I’m concerned about the news, and Rep. Trump challenge against the President Trump’s “Sanctuary Jurisdictions” Executive Order like the San Diego Unified School District did.
