EscInd: Weekly Action Plan for July 10, 2017
Welcome to Escondido Indivisible’s weekly action plan for July 10, 2017! Escondido Indivisible is a grassroots group dedicated to affecting changes in our local community. Our website is at EscondidoIndivisible.com, and our sister group is at Escondido Indivisible on Facebook. Send us links and comments at EscondidoIndivisible50@gmail.com and @EscInd50 on Twitter. If you were forwarded this letter, you can subscribe here, and check the archive here.
It’s okay if you can’t do everything on the plan. Pick 1 action every day or 3-5 actions for the week and commit yourself to doing them. Whatever your commitment, as President Obama said in his farewell speech: Believe in your ability to bring change. Show up, dive in, stay at it.

Contact Rep. Hunter and ask him when is his next town hall. More than 525 constituents have sign a petition for him to hold another town hall. Ask him if there is an easy and public method to find his public appearance events, because his website, newsletters, Facebook and Twitter account rarely advertise when he’s available to his constituents. For example, Rep. Hunter attended a Escondido Republican Club meeting on June 19, 2017, was confirmed to appear at Alpine’s 4th of July Big Parade & Carnival and invited to San Marcos Chamber of Commerce’s Meet Your Elected Officials event on July 27, 2017, but none of the events were publicized by Rep. Hunter.

Note that if the bill passes the Senate, it will go to the House for a vote. See Nine Ways to Stop Trumpcare from a Blue State (or a Red One!).
-
Contact Senator Feinstein & Harris and ask them to oppose the Better Care Reconciliation Act, the Senate’s version of Trumpcare.
