Welcome to Escondido Indivisible’s weekly action plan for January 15, 2018! It’s time to March again! This week includes information about the Woman’s March on January 20. We will celebrate one year of resistance and commit to another year. We have done so much together. Just do what you can from these options. Whatever your commitment, as President Obama said in his farewell speech: Believe in your ability to bring change. Show up, dive in, stay at it.

- Write a letter to the editor about the city’s failure to do due diligence in researching LS&S outside their own marketing materials, in engaging the public about outsourcing library services, and in serving the public’s interests for a transparent & public-control library.
Tuesday
- Read-up on DACA Recipients Can Apply For Renewal, Government Says. Note that existing DACA recipients can apply for renewal, but new DACA applications still aren’t being accepted.
- Contact Rep. Hunter and ask him to support a clean DREAM Act which protects DREAMers from deportation. Note that Rep. Hunter has stated that “I will not support any immigration reform effort, including DACA, that does not address border enforcement and put national security first”, but $18 billion for a border wall could fund CHIP for the next 10 plus years. - Contact Senator Feinstein & Harris and ask them to pass a clean DREAM Act (S.1615) which protects DREAMers from deportation. No amendments to fund a border wall or increase deportations. See Dreamer Pledge and Demand Congress Pass a Clean DREAM Act.

- Read-up on The price of extending CHIP is now so low it saves the government money and Scramble Is On To Care For Kids If Insurance Coverage Lapses.
- Contact Senator Feinstein & Harris and ask them to permanently renew the Children's Health Insurance Program or extended it for another 10 year. Per the CBO & JCT score, extending CHIP for 10 years would yield net savings for the federal government.
Thursday
- Read-up on Net neutrality activists are celebrating as Democratic senators clear key hurdle to voting against the FCC.

Friday

- Contact Rep. Hunter and ask him when he plans to hold a town hall with his constituents. He had not hold a town hall for almost a year.
