- Write a letter to the editor to question if Rep. Hunter has been working to represent his constituents & willingness to meet his constituents in a public forum as he promised a year ago.
Tuesday
- Read-up on For 30 years, California Republicans in D.C. worked to protect the coast. Where are they now?
- Contact Board of Supervisors Chairwoman Gaspar & thank you her for introducing actions to oppose offshore drillings. Reiterate your support for San Diego County to take actions against offshore drillings.
- Contact Rep. Hunter and ask him to co-sponsor H.R.2272 which “permanently prohibit[s] offshore drilling on the Continental Shelf areas in the Atlantic Ocean and Straits of Florida”. Tell him that you oppose Interior Secretary Zinke’s proposal to open offshore drilling in California’s coast. See Protect Our Coasts from Offshore Drilling.
Wednesday
- Contact Rep. Hunter and state your opposition for H.R.620 (or ADA Education and Reform Act) which repeal essential protections those with disabilities. - Contact Senator Feinstein & Harris and let them know that you support a Congressional Review Act resolution to restore the 2015 net neutrality rules. See Senate receives official net neutrality notice from FCC and Fight the Rollback of Net Neutrality Protections.
Thursday
- Read-up on Trump takes ‘shackles’ off ICE, which is slapping them on immigrants who thought they were safe, ICE immigration arrests increased in 2017 and San Gabriel becomes the latest California city to withdraw from ICE collaborations.
- Contact Rep. Hunter and let him know that you support a path for citizenship for Dreamers and Temporary Protected Status (TPS) recipients. Ask him to work on a bipartisan, clean DREAM Act to product Dreamers & TPS recipients. See What’s Next in the Fight to Protect Dreamers.
- Contact Senator Feinstein & Harris and reiterate your support for a path for citizenship for Dreamers & Temporary Protected Status (TPS) recipients. Express concerns about the White House’s demands for a $25 billion border wall & a 50% cut to legal immigration.
Friday
- Read-up on What Puerto Rico Is, and Isn’t, Getting in Disaster Relief, FEMA Contract Called for 30 Million Meals for Puerto Ricans. 50,000 Were Delivered and Explosion cuts power in Puerto Rico.
- Contact Rep. Hunter and ask him to co-sponsor H.R.4782 which would provide additional disaster recovery assistance to Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands.
- Contact Senator Feinstein and ask her to co-sponsor S.2165 which would provide additional disaster recovery assistance to Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands.
