Congress is in recess until after September 5, 2017,and members of congress are back in their district. During this recess, focus on the issues that are important to you with resources from Indivisible National: The Budget, Immigration, Keep TrumpCare Dead, Protecting Our Democracy: Tell Trump He Can't Fire Mueller, Stand Up for Our Planet, and Upcoming Tax Cuts Fight. Contact Rep. Hunter and ask him to hold a town hall during August recess. Ask him if he’s meeting his constituents this August recess and if he’s going to keep his promise of more town halls. More than 570 constituents have sign a petition for him to hold another town hall.

Contact Assemblymember Waldron and ask her to vote yes in favor of SB-54 which limits instances in which state and local resources are used for immigration enforcement without a judicial warrant. The bill was re-referred to the Assembly Appropriations Committee on July 10, 2017. See California Values Act (SB 54) and 2017-55: Escondido City Resolution on CA Senate Bill 54.

Contact Rep. Hunter and ask him to co-sponsor H.R.3591 (or the American Hope Act) which would provide DREAMers in Rep. Hunter’s district a path to citizenship. Contact Rep. Hunter and ask him to support any authorizations of ACA cost-sharing reduction payments. Ask him to publicly demand the White House to commit to continuing CSR payments.

Contact Senator Feinstein & Harris and ask them to take actions to stabilize the insurance markets against uncertainty and sabotaging of ACA by the White House. See Sabotage Watch: Tracking Efforts to Undermine the ACA.

Contact Rep. Hunter and ask him to co-sponsor H.R.2759 (or NATS Act), H.R.2760 (or Immigrant Veterans Eligibility Tracking System (I-VETS) Act) and H.R.2761 (or Healthcare Opportunities for Patriots in Exile (HOPE) Act), which assist servicemembers or veterans who are undocumented immigrants and may be (or have been) deported. H.R.2759 has been referred to the House Committee on Armed Services of which Rep. Hunter is a member. See Service Members, Not Citizens: Meet The Veterans Who Have Been Deported and Rep. Contact Senator Feinstein & Harris and ask them to co-sponsor S.1703 (or Healthcare Opportunities for Patriots in Exile (HOPE) Act of 2017), S.1704 (or Veterans Visa and Protection Act of 2017), S.1725 (or Immigrant Veterans Eligibility Tracking System) and S.1727 (Naturalization at Training Sites (NATS) Act of 2017) which assist servicemembers or veterans who are undocumented immigrants and may be (or have been) deported.
