- Read-up on Rep. Duncan Hunter sets up legal fund amid criminal investigation and They came for Darrell Issa. They stayed with their inflatable chicken, blue wall and cakes for political therapy.
Tuesday
- Contact Assemblymember Waldron and ask her to vote yes on AB-2103 which requires a minimum of 8 hours live training to get a concealed carry permit; current policy only specified between 1-16 hours. From Moms Demand Action: “Hi, I’m [name] and I’m a constituent from [city]. I'm calling on behalf of Moms Demand Action. I would love to see California join the other 25 states that require live fire training for a concealed carry permit. Please ask Assembly Member [name] to vote Yes on AB2103.” See also CA StateStrong Newsletter.
Wednesday
- Contact Rep. Hunter and ask him to support H.R.5551 which requires the “Attorney General to submit to Congress investigative materials” when a pardon is granted in an investigation “where the president or a member of his family is a witness, subject or target”. - Contact Senator Feinstein & Harris and express your continued concerns about the nomination of Gina Haspel as CIA Director. See Oppose Gina Haspel for CIA Director.
Thursday
- Contact Rep. Hunter and ask him to support H.R.4782 which “provide[s] additional disaster recovery assistance for the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and the United States Virgin Islands”. See Puerto Rico Is Once Again Hit by an Islandwide Blackout and Puerto Rico plunges too easily into darkness. Its citizens deserve better.
- Contact Senator Feinstein & Harris and ask them to support S.2165 which “provide[s] additional disaster recovery assistance for the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and the United States Virgin Islands”.
Friday
- Contact State Senator Anderson and ask him to support SB-1346 which would ban bump stocks. He voted no against SB-1346 when it was in the Senate Public Safety Committee. See CA StateStrong Newsletter.
- Comment in support of proposed rule on Bump-Stock Type Device which would classify bump-stock as “machineguns” and, thus, illegal to possess. Comment period ends June 27, 2018.
