EscInd: Weekly Action Plan for April 3, 2017
Welcome to Escondido Indivisible’s weekly action plan for April 3, 2017! Escondido Indivisible is a grassroots group dedicated to affecting changes in our local community. Our website is at EscondidoIndivisible.com, and our sister group is at Escondido Indivisible on Facebook. Send us links and comments at EscondidoIndivisible50@gmail.com and @EscInd50 on Twitter. If you were forwarded this letter, you can subscribe here, and check the archive here.
It’s okay if you can’t do everything on the plan. Pick 1 action every day or 3-5 actions for the week and commit yourself to doing them. Whatever your commitment, as President Obama said in his farewell speech: Believe in your ability to bring change. Show up, dive in, stay at it.

PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY
Thanks to Marion for this
Be a Conscientious Consumer: Easter is almost here, time to purchase goodies for the egg hunts and baskets. Good news, Peeps are a conflict palm oil free candy! Sadly the same cannot be said about most other candy, especially filled chocolate. (It appears that the hollow bunnies may be ok though.) Please read the ingredients list and do not purchase anything that contains palm oil. The use of conflict palm oil is leading to the destruction of the rainforests and is endangering wildlife. Orangutans, possibly our closest living relatives have only about a decade before facing extinction. To learn more (and to find out how this issue is also related to climate change) please visit one of the following sites: Friends Among the Palms @ https://friendsamongthepalms.wordpress.com/.
