We're hiring, new LandExplorer feature coming soon, and more

Hello, and welcome to our September newsletter! Here's what we've been up to, and what's coming up.

We're hiring: Product Lead

We're recruiting a Product Lead to work across our projects, including LandExplorer, Data for Housing Justice, and the Cooperative World Map.

  • Pay: £26.10/hour

  • Hours: ~14 hours/week over 2 days

  • Location: Fully remote in the UK

  • Deadline: 10am, Monday 14th September

If you (or someone you know) might be a good fit, take a look at the full details and how to apply:

Coming soon to LandExplorer: the historical ownership layer

We're nearly finished adding a historical ownership layer to LandExplorer. It lets you see how a piece of land or property's ownership has changed over time: useful if you're trying to understand a landlord's history rather than just a snapshot of who owns something today.

It's easiest to understand by seeing it in action, so take a couple of minutes to watch the walkthrough video:

Upcoming workshop: understanding land ownership

Later this month, we're running a workshop on how to use LandExplorer and other tools to understand who really owns land and property, and everyone's welcome. Keep an eye on our socials: the sign-up link is coming soon.

Catching up in London

Most of the team got together in person in London recently, and it was wonderful to see everyone. We met up at Space4, a coworking cooperative in Islington, visited the nearby Museum of Homelessness, and rounded things off with a night of games at a retro arcade in North London. We also talked through the upcoming release of new LandExplorer features and what we'd like the future of Digital Commons Cooperative to look like.

Shared Assets is hiring too

Our friends at Shared Assets are looking for someone to lead the organisation into its next phase: setting strategic direction, building the team, and continuing their work across the UK land system.

  • Pay: £43,125 for 4 days/week (£51,750 FTE)

  • Hours: 4 days/week

  • Location: Remote, UK-based

  • Deadline: 14th September

If you're interested, or know someone who'd be a great fit, here are the details:

That's all for this month. Thanks for reading, and see you next time.

In solidarity,

The DCC team
