12:30 PM Adult Sunday School: Join us as Pastor Ken Wendland begins a two week study on Hermeneutics - how do we know what the Bible means.

Children Sunday School: Deb Bowen will be teaching children from 3 years on up, in the front Sunday School room.

Church Luncheon: Immediately following our Sunday School. All are invited. Plan to stay for food and fellowship.
Reminder: This Sunday the church will be providing hot dogs, rolls and condiments. Feel free to bring chips, or something similar, if you like.
Snacks: All are welcome to bring snacks as they desire.

Special Prayer Requests

• Pastor Mark Herzer is on medical leave for three weeks - During this time, please direct all questions or concerns to one of the elders.

• Pastor Mark Herzer (update) - Mark is home with few physical restrictions. He has been diagnosed with congestive heart failure and the heart cath revealed that at least one of his arteries is 100% blocked. He is sleeping better than he has in years and is finding that he is able to commune with the Lord in a more focused way and is loving the spiritual clarity it has brought him.
  
  He has to wear a LifeVest (which is a wearable cardioverter defibrillator worn by patients at risk of sudden cardiac death) for the next three months, after which time his heart will be re-evaluated to see if there has been any healing which will determine treatment moving forward.
  
  Please pray that the Lord would sustain Mark through all of this and that the Lord would give the doctors wisdom and skill to determine the proper treatment. Mark will be meeting with his cardiologist this Tuesday, April 28th.
  
  Pray also that the Lord might have mercy on Mark, and on us as well, lest we should have sorrow upon sorrow (Phil. 2:27). Pray also for Martha as she cares for her mom (Jan), and that the Lord might have mercy on Jan and open her eyes to receive Christ.

• Michelle Kellner - Michelle had a fainting episode this morning (Friday). She has seen her doctor and so far no cause has been found. Please pray that further testing will discover the cause and that the Lord would sustain and comfort her during this time.

• Patty Carnes - will be seeing a surgeon Tuesday, April 28th. Please pray that he will be able to schedule surgery soon to address her hernias which are causing much pain.

• Tim Roof - for his upcoming surgery May 7th to have a tumor removed from his right kidney.

• Terry Carnes - as he begins cognitive therapy April 27th. He will be on medical leave for at least another month.

We praise the Lord that we are all in His hands and can fully rest in His love and care. Pray that we would all honor Him as we trust in Him.

Don’t forget to keep up with your Westminster Shorter Catechism (WSC)! We are reviewing Q&A #53-56 this week:

Q. 53. Which is the third commandment?

A. The third commandment is, Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain: for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

Q. 54. What is required in the third commandment?

A. The third commandment requireth the holy and reverent use of God’s names, titles, attributes, ordinances, word and works.

Q. 55. What is forbidden in the third commandment?

A. The third commandment forbiddeth all profaning or abusing of anything whereby God maketh himself known.

Q. 56. What is the reason annexed to the third commandment?

A. The reason annexed to the third commandment is, that however the breakers of this commandment may escape punishment from men, yet the Lord will not suffer them to escape His righteous judgment.

Upcoming Events

April 29th - Wednesday Night Prayer Meeting via Zoom. We will read and discuss a devotional passage, and we will spend some time in prayer. Contact Pastor Mark or one of the elders if you would like to receive the weekly Zoom link.

April 29th - Presbytery Committee Meeting - Please pray as the committee meets with the session of the church that appears to be violating our constitutional standards.

New Streaming Options - We are now livestreaming directly to Sermon Audio, and if everything works right, it will be simulcast to FaceBook as well. Sermon Audio calls it a Webcast and you can find it on the church's SermonAudio page. As before, you can also view using the church’s Facebook page.

Changes to Sunday Lunch - Now in effect.

• 1st Sunday of the Month - Regular Lunch - A-G
• 2nd Sunday - Church provides hotdogs, rolls, and condiments. Feel free to bring your favorite chips, etc.
• 3rd Sunday - Regular Lunch - H-Z families bring food
• 4th Sunday - Church provides hotdogs
• 5th Sunday - No lunch. A good chance to get together with others.
