Special Prayer Request

  • Pastor Mark Herzer - Mark was admitted to Grandview Hospital Wednesday having been diagnosed with “full blown” pneumonia. While he was there, it was discovered that his heart was only functioning 20% effectively, which was the cause of the fluid backup in his lungs. He is scheduled for a heart catheterization today (Friday) to see if there are any blockages.

Please pray that the Lord would sustain Mark through all of this and that the Lord would give the doctors wisdom and skill to determine the cause and proper treatment. Pray also for Martha as she cares for her mom without Mark’s help. She was able to visit Mark briefly yesterday.

We praise the Lord that we are all in His hands and can fully rest in His love and care. Pray that we would all honor Him as we trust in Him.

Catechism Review

Don’t forget to keep up with your Westminster Shorter Catechism (WSC)! We are learning Q&A #56 this week:

Q. 56. What is the reason annexed to the third commandment?

A. The reason annexed to the third commandment is, that however the breakers of this commandment may escape punishment from men, yet the Lord will not suffer them to escape His righteous judgment.

And don’t forget to keep reviewing Questions 53-55!
