On that assassination attempt. Did it or didn’t it? Happen that is.
The internet and social media pointed this out too. 👇

BREAKING: 5 of Top 6 in Line of Succession Were at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.
Since 9/11, presidential administrations have avoided this. A number of commentators have pointed this out. This wasn’t just a security scare. It was a high-level judgment failure.
One more thing.
Since the shooting incident, Trump and his cult have become obsessed with his plan for a $400 million ballroom - which it seems he falsely has claimed will be paid for by private money.
Ana Navarro has joined folks like us who noticed that the incident at the WHCD has brought out mostly calls for a new ballroom.
Previously, on the matter of who would pay, Trump sang even a different tune.
Why should anyone think taxpayers aren’t to be the source of the money!
Trump said this too.
And now, Trump seems to be writing for the Justice Department. For what? Support of his obsession with the ballroom, of course.
It’s a Trump’s full court press for the ballroom.
Side note- Two opinions. I think he wrote the DOJ filing. The New York Times think that the lawyers in Justice wrote it in Trump’s style.
Adopting Trump’s Voice, Justice Dept. Asks Judge to Let Ballroom Proceed.
The court filing links the security breach at the White House correspondents’ dinner to the lawsuit over President Trump’s ballroom project.

The Justice Department officials who filed what might well be a memo written by Trump in their names. According to David Kurtz, The Morning Memo, “The filing is over the signature of the No. 3 official at DOJ, Stanley Woodward, who was a Trump world criminal defense attorney before Trump 2.” The New York Times article posted suggests others willing to accept credit too.
The Justice Department filed a remarkable motion late Monday, written in President Trump’s recognizable online voice, explicitly linking the security breach at the White House correspondents’ dinner to the lawsuit over the president’s ballroom project.
The motion, signed by the acting attorney general, Todd Blanche, and submitted by Stanley Woodward Jr., attacks the litigation against the ballroom the same way Mr. Trump has on social media. It asks Judge Richard J. Leon to backtrack and allow construction on the project to continue.
A court of appeals has already paused Judge Leon’s earlier ruling until arguments in June. But the Justice Department’s latest motion makes an attempt to sway the litigation in the meantime, while taking the opportunity to flatter the president in dramatic terms.
“Because it is DONALD J. TRUMP, a highly successful real estate developer, who has abilities that others don’t, especially those who assume the Office of President, this frivolous and meritless lawsuit was filed,” the filing states. “Again, it’s called TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME.”
The style of the motion leaves no doubt about the president’s significant influence over the decisions of the Justice Department. While parts of the motion are written in a traditional legal style, many sections are indistinguishable from the president’s combative posts on Truth Social.
“‘The National Trust for Historic Preservation’ is a beautiful name, but even their name is FAKE because when they add the words ‘in the United States’ to the National Trust for Historic Preservation, it makes it sound like a Governmental Agency, which it is not,” the motion begins.
Since the attempted attack at the dinner on Saturday, Mr. Trump and his allies have begun ramping up their push to dismiss the lawsuit filed by historic preservationists against the ballroom, which Mr. Trump has attempted to build without the approval of Congress. The lawsuit from the National Trust for Historic Preservation was filed after Mr. Trump abruptly tore down the White House’s historic East Wing without seeking approval from any oversight body.
Shortly after a gunman was arrested rushing toward guests at the Washington Hilton, Mr. Blanche wrote a letter to the historic preservationists, demanding they drop the suit and accusing them of putting Mr. Trump’s life at “grave risk.”
Even if pushed through at an accelerated timeline, the planned ballroom would not be ready for use until near the end of Mr. Trump’s term.
Congressional Republicans have also ramped up their efforts since the breach to push for funding for Mr. Trump’s ballroom, which the president said previously would be funded completely through donations from wealthy businesses and individuals.
Senator Lindsey Graham, the South Carolina Republican and chairman of the Senate Budget Committee, said on Monday that he wanted Congress to move legislation as quickly as possible to provide $400 million for construction of a secure White House ballroom that would also house national security facilities beneath it.
“Private donations can be used, but I think they should be used for buying china and stuff like that,” Mr. Graham said. (New York Times).
One more thing.
Another off the rail action by Trump yesterday.

‘
On that Jimmy Kimmel joke and the Trumps’ call for him to be fired.
Anne Appelbaum of the Atlantic reproduced the Trumps’s comments for “To the Contrary” podcast:
Both Melania and Trump feigned outrage (once again) and — ever willing to play the victim — demanded that Kimmel be taken off the air, fired, and cancelled with extreme prejudice. Melania who seldom comments on current affairs — including extrajudicial murders, wars, or the deaths of others — professed shock at Kimmel’s “hateful and violent rhetoric.”

It was unclear whether her Slovenian education had ever touched on the First Amendment, but her call for gagging Kimmel was unambiguous (if clearly not written by the First Lady herself):
“His monologue about my family isn’t comedy — his words are corrosive and deepens the political sickness within America. People like Kimmel shouldn’t have the opportunity to enter our homes each evening to spread hate.
A coward, Kimmel hides behind ABC because he knows the network will keep running cover to protect him.
Enough is enough. It is time for ABC to take a stand. How many times will ABC’s leadership enable Kimmel’s atrocious behavior at the expense of the community.”
Critics quickly reminded the First Lady that she is actually married to man who recently bleated: "Robert Mueller just died. Good, I’m glad he’s dead. He can no longer hurt innocent people! President DONALD J. TRUMP."
And then there was this:
US President Donald Trump has evoked the death penalty for Democratic lawmakers who urged the military to refuse illegal orders, calling them traitors and accusing them of sedition.
“This is really bad, and Dangerous to our Country. Their words cannot be allowed to stand. SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR FROM TRAITORS!!! LOCK THEM UP???,” Trump said on Truth Social on Thursday.
He then added in a later post: “SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR, punishable by DEATH!”
But we all know the grim fate of irony in the Age of Trump.
Unsurprisingly, Trump quickly followed his wife’s lead, demanding that Kimmel be “immediately fired by Disney and ABC.”

As to Kimmel, he was polite and clear.
