Norfolk Southern Rail Yard
Trains, Autechre, The Simpsons!
Hello again, and welcome back to another month of listening to things, hearing things, etc.
April’s NTS show floats through the Norfolk Southern rail yard in Roanoke, Virginia on the morning of April 1st, 2026.
There are some really great tracks in this month’s show, including one from Shane Parish’s amazing Autechre Guitar, and another featuring vocals by Ringo Starr (technically?) from Dylan Henner’s Simpsons-referencing Bart Vs. The World. (Which is also available as a full-length album visualizer on YouTube!)
You can listen back to all the shows on the NTS site, and premium subscribers also get links to download the latest shows as high-quality MP3s. I recently added some more shows from the archives to the audio player on the youarelistening.to site as well, including an interesting one built around BBC Shipping Forecast recordings, and other marine radio.
(BTW, for the best listening experience on mobile, try adding the youarelistening.to site to your home screen as a web app. It makes it easier to play audio in the background, pause, etc.)

Here’s the playlist for April’s show:
Shane Parish - Clipper (Autechre)
Rafael Anton Irisarri - Memory Strands
TADI THE GREAT - IF MOUNTAINS CRUMBLE, WHAT HOPE DO I HAVE
Glåsbird - Factory Settings
Wata Igarashi - Mineral
Toshihiko Mori - Hikari
miska lamberg - Half-memories absorb us
Green-House - Hinterland III
Isabel Pine - Fables
Guy Blakeslee - ((ELECTRIC SOUNDBATH)) volume 1
Erik Hall - Strumming Music (Charlemagne Palestine)
Dylan Henner - Homer Sits on the Hood of his Car Watching the Stars
And don’t forget to check out the archive of (almost) all the music from the show in my Bandcamp collection.
