Hello again, and welcome back to another month of listening to things, hearing things, etc.

Another kind of content, when it comes to ambient music scanner audio mix-em-ups, is Fire Department radio. There are always a few huge wildfires somewhere in the US & Canada each year. 🌲🔥😓 And on top of that you’ve got the odd warehouse fire like the one that dominated the Los Angeles area nightly news for over a week in June 2026.

(Side note: I’m obviously sending this email out quite late as the show originally aired in late June, but as it turns out the burned out warehouse is still creating toxic after-effects over a month later!)

June’s NTS show listens in to the LA Fire Department as they arrive at the warehouse and start sorting through who’s in charge of what looks like it might be a pretty big fire, actually. And it’s a great month for music, with tracks from Grandbruit, Wil Bolton, Jefre Cantu-Ledesma and more!
