Postcard 023 - Seattle Center
I was cognitively tapped out today.
I’m in the middle of writing two case studies for Reforge, working on a keynote for User Research London, and putting together a conference presentation proposal with a friend. I took a moment to do what I thought would be helpful, which was go for a walk, and instead of taking the route which I normally walk, I decided to walk up towards Seattle Center.
I realized that in the three months of living here, I've never walked that way from my house. It's silly, since the Seattle Center is so close and full of interesting things to see, but so it goes.
Walking through the mix of pathways and forested areas reminded me of my summer at Microsoft Research, when I would take a post walk lunch and meander about in the little streams that rolled through RedWest. Today, just like then, I felt simultaneously drained and overflowing, so stepping away from a screen and embracing some embodied exhaling felt like the best thing.
And it was.
