Postcard 006 - Lens Blades
One of the joys of being back in Seattle after so long in San Francisco is revisiting many of the places I visited at earlier points in my life, but seeing them with a fresh perspective and re-making memories.
This week I'm taking the opportunity to get out of the city for a few days and head up to Orcas Island in the San Juans to stay with a friend. Orcas Island is somewhere I've spent a fair bit of time, both because of my own high school field trips and because of friends, and I was greeted by dozens of memories today today as I sat for a few hours waiting for the ferry.
The ride itself was far more beautiful than I remembered, and I must have circled the boat a few times thinking about where to take photos. Ultimately, I found myself off the bow, watching the sunshine dance on the water.
As I played with different composures, I was reminded of a photo I took a few weeks back of a cyclist's high beam and chose a much smaller aperture than I normally shoot in hopes of seeing more pronounced "stars" on the water.
Enjoy!
