Ayden's Ordinance
Earlier this week, I attended the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors meeting to speak in support of a new ordinance strengthening e-bike regulations, introduced by Supervisors Jackie Speier and Ray Mueller. I was also joined by representatives from the Sheriff's Office and the medical community.
The ordinance passed unanimously, and the supervisors also recommended naming it after Ayden in his honor.
While it is difficult to express the full range of emotions, this is a small but meaning step in the right direction. We are deeply grateful to the Supervisors for taking action to make our roads safer.
The ordinance takes effect on January 1, 2027, and each city within San Mateo County must now adopt it. In the coming months, we will need your continued support to ensure each city adopts and enforces this ordinance.
Thank you for standing with us and hearing Ayden's call to Protect Our City.
