Torre

The control tower at Benito Juarez (MEX) kept checking in with flights in order to get updates on the game.

“Don’t you have a television in there, Tower?” Flight DL357 asked.

“Negative, DL357,“ Tower replied. “Our job is you and all the souls you carry with you.”

“And it’s very much appreciated, Tower. To pay it forward, let’s just take a left here, and — well, hey, you’ll appreciate this, Tower. It looks like Quansah just got a red card.”

Whoops of joy came over the radio.

“I hate to contradict Flight DL357,” Flight AZ862 said, “but it looks like England just converted a penalty.”

“And there’s a dog on the pitch,” Flight LH1582 said.

“And is that Ramon Kane,” Flight BR738 said, “the Evil Twin Brother of Harry Kane who was abandoned in Mexico all these years ago? I thought he was dead.”

“I love Mexico City in the rain,” Tower said.
