What's on Tap RI: September 4–6

What's on Tap RI: September 4–6

It's Labor Day weekend — the unofficial last call on summer, and as good an excuse as any to get out for a beer. The catch: the state's brewery calendars are thinner than they've been all season, with Newport Craft's Food Truck Fridays wrapped for the year and Providence quiet. But Sunday brings the last block party of 2026, and there's live music somewhere in Rhode Island all three days.

⭐ If you only pick one: Ragged Island's Block Party — Sunday, 12–6 in Portsmouth. Two bands, five food trucks, no cover, and it's the final one on the 2026 schedule.

Ragged Island Brewing — Portsmouth

Best free day out • Music ✓ • Food ✓

Fri: Music — DanSan Duo, 5:30–8:30 • Food — Teddi's, 4–8
Sat: Food — Little Fish, 1–8
Sun: Block Party, 12–6, free
Music — Dudemanbro and Guess Method, two sets each
Food — Seb's Pizza, Brie & Honey, Rhode Rage, Hometown Poke, Sweet B's Donuts, 12–7

Why go: It's the last block party on this year's schedule — six hours, two bands, five trucks, nothing at the door.

Trágmar Ale Works — Bristol

Best all-weekend music • Music ✓ • Food ✓

Fri: Music — Keats, 6–9
Sat: Music — The Berger Boys, 6–9 • Food — Hank's Down South BBQ, 2–7
Sun: Music — Beth Barron, 2–4 • Food — La Gatta Salata, 1–5

Why go: The only brewery in the state with live music all three days — and a truck for two of them. Sunday's an early one; they close at 5.

Tower Hill Brewing — South Kingstown

Best Saturday night • Music ✓

Sat: Music — Lee Phillips, 6:30–9:30
Sun: Mah Jong, 6–8:45 — free to play, bring your own board

Why go: Lee Phillips covers a lot of ground on an acoustic guitar, and Saturday night is the only three-hour set in South County this weekend.

Grey Sail Brewing — Westerly

Best low-key daytime • Music ✓

Fri: Music — The Naticks Acoustic, 5–8
Sat: Music — Brandon Donahue, 2–5

Why go: Saturday's set starts at 2 in the outdoor taproom — the earliest music of the weekend, and the easiest one to build an afternoon around.

Taproot Brewing — Middletown

Best Sunday reset • Music ✓ • Food ✓

Sun: Brunch 10–1, then the Sunday Music Series, 1–4
Music — on the tank patio; the artist wasn't posted as of Thursday
Food — food stations and a charcuterie cart, walk-up

Why go: Brunch that rolls straight into an afternoon on the patio, with food you don't have to plan around.

Worth keeping on the radar
