Before I Turn the Key in this Ignition
Welcome. Step inside.
Not that long ago, I had a tumblr where I dropped various notes, photos, and reposts. I kind of loved placing/throwing something into the void and seeing if it would stick, land, or disappear.
In the last few years, I’ve moved from being very online to being far less online. I completely deleted Facebook in 2018, LinkedIn around the same time, Goodreads in 2019? and for a variety of reasons that will for sure be discussed in upcoming posts, I shrunk my Twitter and Instagram use quite a bit since 2020.
What I’ve missed most, though, is sharing—whether I’m sharing things I’ve found that have helped with writing or living, or pieces of my own writing that I imagine might resonate with a stranger. I miss the connections made with other artists and writers. I’ve missed connections with others deeply since 2015, when I ended the Rhapsodomancy Reading Series, which ran for 11 years and in its production required me to engage with writers near and far every other month.
