PUBG Mobile's 4.6 Update Turns Dead Players Into Map-Gliding Vampires

PUBG Mobile pushed version 4.6, Bloodline Awakening, globally on September 9. The limited-time mode revives eliminated players as vampires with bat wings that let them glide across Erangel, and it drops PvE enemies into the match for the first time in this event. Military Base and Stalber become the hunter hot-drop zones. Faction battles run every Friday through Sunday, starting the September 18 to 20 weekend. The patch also touches Classic Mode, Metro Royale, and weapon balance.

Player impact: If you play mobile battle royale, the respawn-as-vampire twist changes how third-partying and late-game rotations work. Squad up for the weekend faction battles or skip the gimmick and grind Classic.

WARDOGS, the large-scale tactical shooter from BULKHEAD and publisher Team17, hit Steam Early Access on September 10. SteamDB clocked a peak of 337,157 concurrent players the same day, but user reviews sat between 43 and 65 percent positive as the servers buckled. Players reported matchmaking queues past 100,000 in some regions and an anti-cheat system banning accounts before matches even started. BULKHEAD said on its official channels it is already working on the queue times and the false bans.

Player impact: If you jumped in on day one, expect long matchmaking waits and possible wrongful bans until the patches land. Anyone on the fence can wait a week for the servers to settle without missing much.

Xbox opened a Free Play Days weekend running through Sunday, September 13 at 11:59 pm PT. Six games are playable: Borderlands 4, F1 25 2026 Edition, CarX Drift Racing Online, and Surviving Mars: Relaunched need an active Xbox Game Pass membership, while Madden NFL 27 and Dustborn are free for all Xbox accounts with no subscription. Any progress carries over if you buy the game later.

Sony revealed the September PlayStation Plus Game Catalog on September 10: eight games for Extra and Premium tiers plus two Classics, all live from September 15. WWE 2K26 headlines, RuneScape: Dragonwilds makes its console debut, and the list includes Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound, Dungeons of Hinterberg, and horror oddity Slitterhead. Nvidia's 616.92 WHQL Driver Rolls the 616.56 Bug Fixes Into a Stable Release

Nvidia released GeForce Game Ready driver 616.92 on September 9, WHQL certified, which means Microsoft has signed off on it as stable. It folds in the recent hotfix that repaired three problems the earlier 616.56 driver caused: browser flickering on some sites, an inability to create virtual displays, and black screens over Remote Desktop. It adds Game Ready support for Active Matter, PUBG's DLSS update, WARDOGS, and the 007 First Light path tracing patch. A crash in Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. and a power-management bug are still listed as known issues.

Player impact: If you skipped the 616.56 driver over the flicker and Remote Desktop bugs, this is the safe one to install now. Virtua Fighter 5 players should hold off until that crash is fixed.

Sony's GTA 6 DualSense Controllers Open Preorders at 85 Dollars, Ship November 19

Sony opened preorders on September 10 for two limited-edition Grand Theft Auto 6 DualSense controllers, one black and one white, at 84.99 dollars each (74.99 pounds, 84.99 euros). The touchpad carries the game's gray Roman numeral VI, with hot pink buttons and an iridescent blue lower shell in Vice City colors. They are PS5 only and go on sale November 19, the same day GTA 6 launches.

Player impact: If you want the matching pad for launch day, preorder now, because limited-edition DualSense runs sell out and resell above retail. At 85 dollars it costs more than a standard controller for the paint job.
