The Division 2 Survivors Opens Extraction Test Sign-Ups, No Copy Required

Ubisoft opened PC registration on September 24 for The Division 2: Survivors, a winter survival expansion it calls a high-stakes extraction shooter. Runs drop you into a frozen Washington, D.C. where weather, time of day, loot, routes, and extraction points change each session, and PvP can be switched on or off. You do not need to own The Division 2 to sign up, and the base game is on a free trial across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox until September 28.

Player impact: Sign up now if you want early hands on a big-budget extraction mode with a PvE-only option. The free trial is the cheapest way to shake off Division rust before selection emails go out.

Escape from Tarkov Pays Battle Pass Progress for Lighthouse Firefights

Battlestate Games started a new Escape from Tarkov event on September 26 built around Scavs and PMCs (player-controlled mercenaries) fighting over stolen TerraGroup documents. Refreshed daily tasks now pay battle pass documents toward the Kord Breach pass, and Lighthouse gets heavier airdrop traffic along the coast. To get the new tasks you either wait for the daily refresh or use the replace option, which can cost trader reputation.

Player impact: Lighthouse is about to get crowded, so expect more PvP along the shoreline drops. If you are behind on the battle pass, daily tasks are now the fastest catch-up route.

Delta Force's Next Operations Map Mixes Difficulty Tiers in One Raid

Team Jade laid out Delta Force's next year in a second-anniversary stream on September 26. The headline for extraction players is Siege: Valkyrie, an Operations map arriving in early 2027 that puts players from different difficulty tiers into the same match inside a city under siege. Detonation, a 5v5 bomb-defusal mode, entered beta on PC and mobile on September 27, and a new Unreal Engine 5 Warfare map follows in November.

Player impact: Mixed-tier matchmaking means fresh squads could share a raid with fully kitted veterans, which changes how you gear up. Detonation is a Counter-Strike-style side mode, so extraction players can skip it.

Active Matter Cuts Motion-Sickness Effects and Fixes Squad Auto-Fill

Gaijin's Active Matter shipped The Fundamental Protocol update on September 24, nine days after launch. It adds a reward track that unlocks at Monolith Access Level DELTA and lets players spend Merits outside other Harmonization Cycles (the game's rotating reward events). It also removes view shake during extraction, strips the distortion ripple under extraction portals, halves the post-explosion double vision, adds a camera sway option, and fixes squad auto-fill.

Player impact: If portal effects made you queasy or solo queue kept leaving you short-handed, this is the patch to retry on. Merit hoarders finally have somewhere to spend them.

WARDOGS Hits 3 Million Sales as Its CEO Admits Launch Was a Fight Against Cheaters

BULKHEAD's WARDOGS passed 3 million copies sold on PC in just over two weeks of Steam early access, the studio confirmed on September 26. CEO Joe Brammer said the team spent launch fighting cheaters and DDoS attacks (floods of traffic that knock servers offline), and that most staff needed time off afterwards. PS5 and Xbox versions are set for 2028, and he ruled out monetisation beyond cosmetics until the 1.0 launch.

Player impact: The player base is huge, but the cheater and server pressure is real, so expect anti-cheat to be the Season 2 story on October 15. Console players have a long wait.

Warzone Will Let You Hide Every Crossover Skin in Modern Warfare 4 Season 1

Activision confirmed on September 24 that Warzone gets an Operator Skin toggle with Modern Warfare 4's Season 1, which lands shortly after the game's October 23 launch. When switched on, every operator or skin from another Call of Duty title shows as a standard Modern Warfare 4 operator for enemies, squadmates, and lobby members. It is off by default, it only changes what you see, and your own equipped skin stays as picked.

Player impact: Neon anime skins stop giving away or hiding positions on your screen once you flip it. People who paid for crossover bundles lose the flex for anyone who turns it on.

Top-Down Co-op Extraction Game No Such Place Enters Early Access October 14

ChillyRoom's Crit Team announced on September 24 that No Such Place launches in Steam early access on October 14. It is a top-down PvE co-op extraction game for up to four players: you loot relics, samples, and documents across roughly ten dimensional zones, then reach an extraction point before the timer runs out. Early access opens three areas.

Player impact: Squads who like the loot-and-escape loop but hate getting third-partied by other players get a PvE-only option in two and a half weeks. Wishlist it if you want a lighter extraction game for off nights.

GTA 6 Fronts Game Informer on September 29 With 12 New Screenshots

Game Informer confirmed on September 25 that GTA 6 is the cover story of issue 382, which goes live digitally on September 29. The 14-page feature has exclusive interviews with Rockstar Games and a dozen new screenshots, and it covers the weather system, wildlife, and how Rockstar researched Florida to build Leonida. GTA 6 is still dated for November 19 on PS5.

Player impact: Expect Tuesday's timeline to be wall-to-wall screenshot breakdowns. Seven weeks from launch, this is Rockstar's first big pre-release press push.

Silent Hill: Townfall Launches to an 81 From Critics and 71 Percent on Steam

Konami's Silent Hill: Townfall launched on September 24 on PS5, Steam, and the Epic Games Store at $49.99. Critics sit around 81 to 82 on Metacritic, but Steam user reviews landed at 71 percent positive. Players point at repetitive stealth sections, optimisation issues, and a price that feels high next to the Silent Hill 2 remake.

Player impact: If you want the atmosphere, critics say it delivers. If stealth or PC performance usually kills a game for you, wait for a patch or a sale.

Sony Surveys PS5 Owners After the Disc Backlash While Testing $10 Store Credit

A new PS5 user survey surfaced on September 25, and physical-media fans are using its open text boxes to push back on Sony's July decision to stop making discs in 2028. Some players reported the link closing quickly. Sony is also testing Wallet Credit, an unannounced scheme that adds $10 of PlayStation Store credit after buying select new games such as The Blood of Dawnwalker, first spotted in the US and now showing up in the UK and Germany.

Player impact: Check your inbox and fill in the survey if you care about discs. If you buy digital anyway, look for the Wallet Credit tag at checkout before you pay full price.

PS Portal Update 7.1.7 Caps Charging at 80 Percent by Default

Sony pushed PlayStation Portal firmware 7.1.7 on September 25. After updating, the handheld charges to 80 percent by default to slow long-term battery wear, and you can raise the cap in Settings, System, Battery. Sony warns that going above 80 percent may reduce battery health. The update also adds PlayStation Link and stability fixes.

Player impact: Leave the cap on if your Portal lives on the charger. Before a long session away from a plug, raise it to 100 percent or you will run out sooner than usual.

Logitech Reveals the PRO X3 Superstrike Mouse and 14 More Products at G PLAY 2026

Logitech G showed 15 products at its G PLAY 2026 event on September 24 and 25. The headliner for competitive players is the PRO X3 Superstrike mouse, which uses new HITS technology that Logitech says cuts the delay between a click and the in-game action. The lineup also includes the PRO X3 Lightspeed headset, the PRO X2 Rapid keyboard with adjustable key sensitivity, and G HUB Replay software. Prices and dates were not in launch coverage.

Player impact: Hold off on a new esports mouse until independent latency tests land, since the speed claim is Logitech's own. Rapid-trigger keyboards keep spreading, which matters for counter-strafing in tactical shooters.
