Synduality: Echo of Ada Ends Online Play in 2027 and Becomes a Solo PvE Game
Bandai Namco announced on September 26 that Synduality: Echo of Ada, its mech extraction shooter on PS5, Xbox Series, and PC, will end online service in or after May 2027. New events stop after the October 2026 content, SYN COINS (the paid currency) leave the store on December 18, and the exact shutdown date arrives in March 2027. Owners get a free offline update that keeps the loot-and-extract loop with no rival players.
Player impact: Stop buying SYN COINS now, since anything you spend only carries over if it makes the transfer list. If PvP raids were the reason you played, you have about seven months of them left.

Delta Force Launches Detonation, a 5v5 Bomb-Defusal Mode, on PC and Mobile
Delta Force opened the Detonation beta on September 27, a 5v5 bomb mode where attackers plant and defenders stop the plant or defuse it before it blows. It is live now on PC and mobile, and console players get it later in 2026. The mode arrived during the game's second anniversary, alongside a roadmap that promises an Unreal Engine 5 Warfare map in November and the Siege: Valkyrie Operations map in early 2027.
Player impact: A free-to-play Counter-Strike-style mode inside a game you may already have installed is an easy way to try tactical 5v5 without a new launcher. Console players have to wait.

Swizzy and Pixie Win the $2 Million Fortnite Global Championship, Swizzy's Second Straight
Swizzy and Pixie won the Fortnite Global Championship in Antwerp, Belgium, on September 27 after 12 duo matches across two days at the Lotto Arena. It is Swizzy's second world title in a row after his 2025 trios win in Lyon. During the broadcast, Epic Games also outlined its 2027 competitive plans, which include dedicated Reload and Zero Build FNCS championships.
Player impact: Zero Build players finally get a championship path in 2027, so building is no longer the only route to the top of Fortnite competitive.

Gears of War: E-Day Reviews Land October 1, but Critics Only Played the Campaign
Gears of War: E-Day reviews go live October 1 at 6am PT, about an hour before Premium Edition early access opens. Reviewers only had the 14-hour campaign, so launch scores will not cover Versus or the new 12-player Horde Siege mode. The full launch and Game Pass release follow on October 6, and on PC the game needs a GPU with hardware ray tracing.
Player impact: Treat the October 1 scores as a campaign verdict only. Game Pass players can skip the Premium upgrade and judge multiplayer themselves on October 6.

The Witcher 3 Remastered Unlocks September 29 as a Free 45 GB Upgrade With No Preload
CD Projekt Red confirmed that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered goes live September 29 at 10am UTC as a free upgrade for existing owners. The download is about 45 GB on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series and about 50 GB for the separate Switch 2 version, with no preload. Base game owners also get the Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine expansions free, and reviews go up a day early.
Player impact: Clear 45 GB tonight so you are not stuck at launch. If you own the base game but never bought the expansions, this is the cheapest the full Witcher 3 will ever be.

Solo Extraction RPG HOPE 01 Ships Eight Patches in Three Days, Including a Dupe Fix
Bending Boy Games, the studio behind the single-player pixel-art extraction RPG HOPE 01, posted eight patches on Steam between September 25 and 28. They buffed loot on the HAB 01 area, fixed a controller bug that duplicated ammo and fabricks (the crafting material), and reverted a change that was killing bosses by accident. The $11.99 early access game launched September 15 and sits at 92 percent positive on Steam.
Player impact: If you want Tarkov-style risk and loot without other players, this is the cheap, well-reviewed pick. The fast patches mean saves may hit new bugs week to week.
