Incursion Red River's Patch 1.4 Is Live: New Outskirts Map, Convoy Airstrikes, and Your Missions Reset

Incursion Red River's developers pushed Patch 1.4.0.0 on Steam on November 4, calling it the game's biggest update yet. It adds a new Outskirts map, a night-only boss convoy on Delta, airdrops and airstrike-able convoys on every map, plus in-raid traders and a secure container (a protected slot that keeps loot when you die). Mission and safehouse progress reset. Your stash and inventory stay.

Player impact: Squads who bounced off this one have a clean restart point: same gear, fresh quest line, and a raid economy rebuilt around convoys. Expect the first week to be a rush for night Delta runs.

Mistfall Hunter Admits Season 1 Loot Was Too Stingy, Promises Bigger Drops and Less Grind in Season 2

Mistfall Hunter's DevNote #11 on Steam (November 3) says Season 1 drop rates in the dark fantasy PvPvE extraction game were "far too conservative." Season 2 adds more loot containers to every map, raises high-value drop odds, removes forging fees, and cuts main tasks that had to be finished in one life. Camp buildings will reset, and a new US West server plus a Hong Kong move for Asia target lag and desync. No Season 2 date was given.

Player impact: If you quit over the grind, this is the patch to come back for, but the camp reset means everyone restarts the economy at the same line. Watch whether the loot buff survives the first week of player complaints about inflation.

Battlefield 6 Takes the Attack Helicopter Off Vegas Strip and Hands Over a Transport Instead

DICE's latest Battlefield Comms update, reported by PCGamesN on November 3, swaps the neutral vehicle spawn on the Vegas Strip map: the team holding it now gets a transport helicopter instead of an attack helicopter. DICE says it is also removing some other vehicle spawns on the map, without listing which. The change lands as players gear up for the November 10 Casino Heist phase.

Player impact: Infantry on Vegas Strip should stop getting farmed by one heli pilot all match. Pilots lose their favourite map, and transport helis become a squad play for flanking rooftops instead of a solo kill streak.

Halo Infinite Quietly Adds 10 New Maps in November 2026, All of Them Community Forge Builds

Halo Infinite got 10 new multiplayer maps this week, Pure Xbox reported on November 4. All 10 come from this year's Halo Fest Forge contest (Forge is Halo's built-in map editor) and sit in a new Halo Fest Showcase playlist. The drop arrived with no big announcement, five years after Infinite launched.

Player impact: Free multiplayer, 10 maps you have not memorised, and a quiet playlist means easier lobbies for returning players. It is also the clearest sign Infinite's live content now depends on its community.

Fortnite Crew Goes Back to 1,000 V-Bucks and Pays Loyal Subs Up to 1,600, but the Monthly Skin Dies

Epic announced on November 4 that from December 5, Fortnite Crew's base payout returns to 1,000 V-Bucks a month, up from 800. Subscribers with 3, 6, and 12 consecutive months get 1,200, 1,400, and 1,600. Crew members also get 20% bonus XP, and squadmates without Crew get 10%. After December, the exclusive monthly Crew skin ends, though remaining Legacy Styles unlock for everyone who owns those cosmetics.

Player impact: Long-time subscribers get a real raise at the same price. Anyone who subbed for the exclusive skins loses the main reason, so decide before December whether you are in it for currency or cosmetics.

God of War Laufey Slips Three Months to May 20, 2027

Santa Monica Studio announced on November 4 that God of War Laufey, the PS5 exclusive starring Kratos' late wife Faye, moves from February 2027 to May 20, 2027. The studio gave no specific reason beyond "putting in the finishing touches" and thanked fans for their patience. The move gets it out of a crowded February release window.

Player impact: If you had Laufey penciled in as your early 2027 game, you now have a free February. PS5 owners get a cleaner spring, and nobody has to pick between it and February's other big launches.

GTA 6 Pre-Orders Pass $751 Million and 7.7 Million Copies, With 74% on PS5, Analysts Estimate

Analytics firm Sensor Tower estimates GTA 6 pre-orders have generated about $751 million from roughly 7.7 million copies, with 74% on PS5, GamesRadar reported on November 4. Rockstar has not confirmed any figures. Separately, Rockstar said code-in-a-box retail copies hit shelves November 10, two days early, but the game still unlocks November 19, and the $100 Ultimate Edition will not be sold in stores.

Player impact: A boxed copy on November 10 is just a download code, so plan your 212GB pre-load instead of racing to a store. And with PS5 holding three quarters of pre-orders, expect most of your squad's clips on PlayStation.

Phantom Blade Zero's First Patch Tones Down Hua's Grabs and Cuts PC Shader Waits

S-Game shipped Phantom Blade Zero's first update on November 4 (1.302.289 on PS5), a week after launch, MP1st reported. The boss Hua, Deadly Betrothed grabs less often on the Wayfarer and Pathbreaker difficulties. On PC, ray tracing shaders no longer compile at startup, Bluetooth controller stutter is reduced, Nvidia Reflex works on Auto with V-Sync on, and a hair rendering bug on some AMD cards is fixed.

Player impact: Stuck on Hua on the easier difficulties? Update and try again. PC players with ray tracing off will sit through one more shader compile on first launch, then get faster starts after that.

Silica, the FPS-RTS Hybrid From Bohemia's Publishing Arm, Hits 1.0 After Three Years in Early Access

Silica left Steam early access and launched 1.0 on November 3, Rock Paper Shotgun reported. Built by Martin Melicharek with DayZ studio Bohemia Interactive publishing, it puts one commander per team in a real-time strategy view while everyone else fights in first person, on a desert planet with giant alien bugs. It had been in early access since 2023.

Player impact: If you want large-scale shooter matches where someone is actually calling the plays, this is the one to check this week. A 1.0 launch also means the population bump is now, so jump in early.

Macronix Is Quitting the ROM Chips Inside Switch Cartridges to Chase Data Center Money

Macronix, a long-time Nintendo supplier, said on its Q3 2026 earnings call that it will phase out ROM chip production and focus on memory for AI data centers, The Verge and GameSpot reported on November 4. ROM fell to about 5% of its business, down from 26% a year earlier. Macronix is not Nintendo's only ROM source, and GamesRadar notes Switch 2 cards may be less exposed than Switch 1.

Player impact: Fewer cartridge suppliers means more pressure for Game-Key Cards (boxes with only a download code) and pricier full carts. If you buy physical for resale or ownership, check what is actually on the card before you pay.

PS Store's Black Friday Sale Shows Different Prices to Different Players, Roughly $5 Apart

Push Square reported on November 4 that Sony's dynamic pricing tests appear to be changing what PS5 owners pay in the new PS Store Black Friday sale. Evidence shared by the Cheap Ass Gamer account shows first-party games including Death Stranding 2, Astro Bot, and Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition at prices that vary by roughly $5 between accounts. Sony has not commented.

Player impact: Before you buy in the Black Friday sale, compare the price with a friend's account. The same game might be cheaper for someone else, and the sale runs long enough to wait.

Xbox Cloud Lets Your Phone Be the Controller on TVs, and the Nano Pad Skips Bluetooth for Lower Lag

Xbox rolled out two Xbox Cloud Gaming previews on November 4, Pure Xbox and Insider Gaming reported. Your Android or iOS phone can now act as a controller on supported smart TVs (some Amazon, LG, and Samsung models) via Preview Features in the Xbox app. Cloud Connect lets the new Xbox Nano Controller link over Wi-Fi straight to the cloud server, which may cut input lag; it is US-only, on smart TVs and web, and not in every game yet.

Player impact: Cloud players fighting input lag on a TV now have a hardware fix, but only with the Nano pad. The phone controller is a decent backup for a quick session, not for anything competitive.

Goddess of Victory: NIKKE's PC Launcher Was Tampered With, and Shift Up Is Still Measuring the Damage

Shift Up, the studio behind Stellar Blade, said on November 4 that the PC launcher for its gacha shooter Goddess of Victory: NIKKE may have had script files tampered with by a third party. The studio and publisher Level Infinite are investigating and promised follow-up measures. Automaton reported that players who opened the PC launcher from October 24 onward were reportedly at risk.

Player impact: If you launched NIKKE on PC since October 24, run a malware scan and change passwords you use on that machine now. Do not wait for the official follow-up notice.

The UK Plans to Cut Off Stranger Voice Chat in Games for Under-16s

UK Online Safety Minister Ian Murray confirmed on November 4 that the government will regulate "stranger communications" in games for under-16s after its social media ban for that age group, expected in the spring, Dexerto reported. The aim is to keep matchmaking with strangers while removing the ability to talk to them. Player group Gamer's Voice warned it could mean every player proving their age to use voice chat.

Player impact: UK squads with younger players could lose open voice in matchmade lobbies, and adults may face age checks just to keep game chat. Party chat with friends is not the stated target.
