Gray Zone Warfare's AI Can't Find You From One Gunshot Anymore, and the Hideout Grind Gets Lighter

MADFINGER Games pushed Patch 0.5.1.0 to Gray Zone Warfare on November 5, the first patch since the Rogue Ops update. Over 40 AI changes mean a gunshot now gives enemies only a rough location, they share your position by shouting instead of instantly, and slow movement makes footsteps harder to hear. The hideout economy also pays more: better handover rewards, higher sell prices, shorter crafting times, and lighter building materials.

Player impact: Suppressed, slow play just got stronger, so solo players who quit over psychic AI have a reason to reinstall. Hideout builders should rerun the numbers on smuggling runs before their next deployment.

FragPunk's Farlands PvPvE Courier Mode Is Live, and Everything You Earn Gets Wiped When the Test Ends

FragPunk launched Farlands in early access on November 5, a free large-scale mode where players take delivery orders, haul cargo across the borderlands, and extract with loot while other squads can betray or rob them. The studio warns that all test data, including levels, warehouse stock, base and vehicle progression, will be wiped when the test ends. A free Farlands Early Access Pass and a challenge event run until November 19.

Player impact: It costs nothing to try, so it is a cheap look at a new PvPvE loop. Treat every run as a test, because nothing you stack carries over.

Active Matter Teases Icarus Offices, a Raid to the Top of Downtown's Vanilla Tower

Gaijin's extraction shooter Active Matter announced Icarus Offices on November 5, a new raid that sends players up the Vanilla skyscraper seen in the Downtown map, with a fast new monster waiting inside. A November 4 developer Q&A says squad auto-fill and matchmaking are being expanded, anti-griefing tools are coming, and raid rotation timing is under review. A new Body Sleeve, Cicada, can trap monsters and release them at rival players.

Player impact: Expect a vertical, close-quarters raid soon, with no date yet. Squads should watch for Cicada, since a thrown monster attacks everyone except her.

Apex Bans 905 Ranked Exploiters, and 848 of Them Were on PS5

Respawn's anti-cheat team said on November 4 it fixed an exploit that let players, mostly on PS5, enter Apex Legends ranked as Rookie IV whatever their real rank. That meant no entry cost and Rookie kill bonuses while keeping the points. It banned 905 accounts for 120 to 365 days and removed 15.1 million RP: 848 bans were on PlayStation, 44 on Xbox, 12 on PC, and 2 on Switch 2.

Player impact: If you lost to a suspiciously cheap Predator push this split, this is probably why. Leaderboards should look cleaner, and players who hit the bug by accident were not banned.

Deadlock's Ranked Season 2 Takes Loss Shields Away From Top Players and Adds a Fourth Hero Ban

Valve started Deadlock's Ranked Beta Season 2 on November 5, running until March 11, 2027. Phantom, Ascendant, and Eternus players lose all rank loss protection, while everyone else drops from 5 shields to 3 at a full rank and 2 to 1 at subranks. Wins now pay 350 points instead of 300, a new badge costs 1,500 instead of 2,000, and ranked matches get 4 hero bans instead of 3.

Player impact: High-ranked players can now fall after one bad night, while mid-ladder players climb faster. Expect a soft reset of about one badge on average, plus a global redistribution that may move you up.

Modern Warfare 4's Season 1 Battle Pass Auto-Catches You Up if You Fall Behind

Activision detailed the Modern Warfare 4 Season 1 Battle Pass on November 5, ahead of the season going live at midnight ET on November 6. Paid pass owners who fall behind are automatically caught up to the tier matching the current day of the season, up to day 50. The pass costs 1,100 COD Points, or 2,400 with 20 tier skips, and XP from Multiplayer, DMZ, and Warzone all counts.

Player impact: Paid pass holders who play a few nights a week no longer need to grind daily to keep up. Free players get nothing from the catch-up.

The Finals 12.2 Buffs Medium Guns to Fight 175 HP Lights

Embark's The Finals Update 12.2.0 landed on November 5 with buffs aimed at Medium builds losing duels to Lights, who now have 175 HP. The AKM gets 36 rounds instead of 34, the Chimera-XB goes to 48 damage and 280 RPM, and the FCAR hits for 25 instead of 23 but fires at 500 RPM with a 20-round magazine. Embark says it buffed Mediums because Light still trails in win rates.

Player impact: Medium players get more tracking options in close fights, especially with the AKM. FCAR users should practise their aim, since the higher damage comes with a smaller magazine.

Honkai: Nexus Anima Targets Spring 2027, and Its Final Closed Beta Starts November 25

miHoYo announced on November 4 that Honkai: Nexus Anima, its open-world creature-catching RPG, launches in spring 2027 on PC, iOS, and Android. A final closed beta starts November 25, with sign-ups open now on the official site. The test adds new story chapters, an RV base, and changes the gacha so a player's first 5-star pull on a limited banner is guaranteed to be the featured one.

Player impact: Creature-collector fans should sign up now if they want in before launch. The guaranteed first 5-star limited pull means fewer bad pulls, but miHoYo's gacha is still the business model.

WoW: Forever Launches Without the Usual Blizzard Meltdown, With Eight-Minute Queues

World of Warcraft: Forever went live worldwide on November 4, and launch-day reports describe a smooth start. PCGamesN reports one early bug that blocked players from choosing a gameplay ruleset (Forever's replacement for picking a server) was fixed within about an hour. Players on Reddit posted short queues and no crashes. Blizzard's layering spreads players across instances, so starting zones feel quieter.

Player impact: If you skipped day one expecting queues, the servers are holding up. Leveling with friends needs a group invite, because layering can split you into different copies of a zone.

Nintendo Rules Out Another Switch 2 Price Hike for Now, as Sales Fall 37%

Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa said in the November 5 earnings report that Nintendo is not considering another change to the Switch 2's price, which rose to $500 in September, and that it can secure the memory it needs. Switch 2 sold 6.49 million units from April to September, down from 10.36 million a year earlier. Sony said the same day that it has agreed memory supply for its next fiscal year's hardware forecasts.

Player impact: No second price hike is coming before the holidays, so there is no reason to rush a Switch 2 purchase. Furukawa has not ruled out increases next year if memory prices keep climbing.

Xbox's PC App Gets an Overhaul That Opens Up to 60% Faster, Starting With Insiders

Microsoft started rolling out a rebuilt Xbox PC app to Insiders on November 5. Its internal tests show the app launching up to 60% faster, Home, Store, and Game Pass pages loading up to 50% faster, and in-app windows opening up to 65% faster. Friends and parties move into the main navigation, search covers installed games, add-ons, and people, and better controller support is coming to Windows handhelds. Everyone else gets it later, with no date given.

Player impact: PC Game Pass players and ROG Xbox Ally owners should get a less painful launcher soon. Join the Insider program if the current app's load times bother you.

GameSir's $54.99 Nova Vision Puts a Screen on a Switch 2 Pad and Lets You Twist the Sticks Tighter

GameSir revealed the Nova Vision on November 5, its first controller with a built-in screen and adjustable thumbstick tension. You adjust tension by twisting the sticks themselves, and the screen menu handles back-button mapping, stick settings, profiles, and connections. It costs $54.99 in black or white, has trigger stops, supports Switch 2 and PC, and is up for pre-order now.

Player impact: This is the cheapest way to get adjustable stick tension and on-pad settings, which suits shooter players who want stiffer sticks for fine aim. Wait for reviews before trusting a new screen pad's battery life.

A Language Patch Made Nier: Automata a 366GB Install on Steam, Up From 50GB

A small Steam update for Nier: Automata added Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Korean, and GamesRadar confirmed on November 5 that a reinstall now asks for 366.56GB of free space. The store page still recommends 50GB. Players suspect the game files were accidentally duplicated into the DLC, and Square Enix had not explained the jump when GamesRadar reported it.

Player impact: Do not delete and reinstall Nier: Automata on PC right now unless you have 366GB spare. Wait for a fix if you were planning a replay.

EA Puts 25 Classics on Steam, With Anniversary Editions of Wing Commander and Road Rash

EA released 25 older PC games on Steam and GOG on November 5, including Ultima I to IX, both Ultima Underworlds, Theme Hospital, Crusader, Strike Commander, and the Wing Commander series. Road Rash and several Wing Commander games come as Anniversary Editions with modern system support. EA says they used a found vault of Betacam, VHS, and D1 tapes to restore over 1,500 FMV scenes. The collection is discounted until November 19.

Player impact: If you already own Wing Commander on GOG or the EA app, you get the Anniversary Editions free. Everyone else can buy Road Rash on Steam now instead of using abandonware sites.
