Battlefield 6 Publishes Its Anti-Cheat Numbers as Season 4 Tidal Strike Rolls On

EA and DICE posted Battlefield 6's July anti-cheat metrics on September 4, the latest in a run of transparency reports on Javelin, the game's kernel-level anti-cheat that runs at the system level to catch cheats. It lands beside the September 2 Season 4 Tidal Strike community update, which lays out the next content phase and a staged Proximity Chat rollout. EA is trying to show bans are landing while the shooter's community keeps arguing about cheaters in high-skill lobbies.

Player impact: If you bounced off Battlefield 6 over cheaters, these numbers are EA's pitch to come back and check the lobbies yourself. Proximity chat is the bigger draw for squad play, but EA still has not locked a firm date.

State of Play Dates Final Fantasy 7 Revelation for 2027 and Gives Ghost of Yotei a Free Mode

Sony's September 3 State of Play closed with Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, the third and final chapter of the FF7 remake trilogy, dated for April 8, 2027 alongside roughly 10 minutes of new gameplay. Sony also dated Until Dawn 2 for January 28, 2027, revealed a surprise Maneater 2, and confirmed a free Combat Survival Mode plus a paid Echoes of Sekigahara story expansion for Ghost of Yotei arriving October 1.

Acer revealed the Predator Atlas 7 at IFA Berlin, a 7-inch Windows gaming handheld built on Intel's new Arc G3 and Arc G3 Extreme chips instead of the AMD parts most rivals use. Ubisoft Cuts For Honor Off From Steam Deck and Linux on September 10 Over Anti-Cheat

Ubisoft will block For Honor, its medieval melee fighting game, on Steam Deck and Linux from September 10, the same day Ranked Season 0 arrives with Ranked Dominion and crossplay enabled. Ubisoft says its updated anti-cheat cannot run on Linux, so Deck and Linux players lose access to the game entirely. It follows Apex Legends and GTA Online, which both pulled Linux support over the same anti-cheat conflict. Valve's Proton layer lets many anti-cheats run on Deck, but publishers have to switch it on.

Player impact: If you main For Honor on a Steam Deck or a Linux rig, September 10 ends that, even for a game you already own. This is the recurring Deck risk: one publisher anti-cheat toggle can lock you out overnight.
