MEETING COMICS

NO RACCOONS UPDATE

Hey folks! Here's an update post since I've been away from patreon for a minute.

NO RACCOONS UPDATE

Every time I sit down to draw a page of this comic, I realize I've crammed too much into one page, so I'm currently in the process of reviewing the outline and seeing if this needs to be a three issue story or if I need to cut some stuff and keep it to two issues. I should have word on this soon. I think I'm going to be really happy with this story when it's all done, and I'm aggravated that I need to keep taking breaks, but que sera sera...

TINA AND ELLIE KICKSTARTER

Tina and Ellie Take the Case kickstarter image

There is now a page for the kickstarter for Tina and Ellie Take the Case. The campaign won't be live for a while, but I want to allow time for people to sign up to be notified when it launches, so if you are interested in the book, please sign up here.

TINA AND ELLIE CHAPTER ILLUSTRATIONS

For the first two books, I just let the comics from all six issues flow into each other, because that was how I created the comics, for the most part. I thought of the comics first and foremost as single page strips and secondly as parts of issues, so it made more since to run those books in that way.

I am working on illustrations for the new book, though, because these are the issues where I started thinking more about each issue as its own unit, and where the cumulative effect of the stories became more important to me than the individual strips.

I considered not including chapter headers in this book in the name of consistency, but Meeting Comics has always been a comic of change and growth, so I figure each book can be different, just like each issue was. Anyway, I've drawn three of the five images so far, and here they are:

Chapter header page for Tina and Ellie take the Case:
Text reads Meeting Comics #13: The Case of the IP Freeloaders
Image is a drawing of Tina and Ellie in Ink, marker, and whiteout
Chapter header page for Tina and Ellie take the Case:
Text reads Meeting Comics #14: Lockdown
Image is a drawing of Tori and Val in Ink, marker, and whiteout
Chapter header page for Tina and Ellie take the Case:
Text reads Meeting Comics #15: The Long Day
Image is a drawing of Thomas as the Ribbon Cutter, fist up in the black power salute. Other people are also there, all wearing ribbon cutter masks.

It's been fun to revisit the way I drew these characters in 2020 with my 2026 style and ability.

Which one is your favorite? I think the Tori and Val one is my favorite.

TINA AND ELLIE INTRODUCTION

I have secured an introduction to Tina and Ellie Take the Case, and I'll be sharing it soon. For now, that's all you get on that subject...

GETTING DRESSED

A drawing of Tori and Val circa 1996 in black and white (drawn digitally) not fully dressed and discussing their possible outfits. Clothes are everywhere, and so is other stuff.

Here's a digital illustration I did of Tori and Val getting dressed. This takes place after the events of NO RACCOONS, since Tori has the black dye job.

OK, that's all for now. Take care.

Thanks for reading!
