This is a members-only newsletter calling for proposals for walks and activities as part of our Autumn Season, 22 August - 8 November.

Call out for walks and activities

We’d like to mark the waning part of the year with an Autumn programme of public walks and other events. We know there are some of you with exciting ideas brewing, just waiting for the right opportunity or a bit of encouragement to make them happen, so a focused effort while we still have daylight and mild(ish) weather on our side feels like the way to go.

The Plan: a programme of public walks, talks, workshops, screenings etc. delivered by Walkspace members between the dates of 22nd August and 8th November. We don’t have any funding for this but members will have the option of charging for their events to remunerate some of the time and effort put in.

If you have an idea for a walk, workshop, talk or other activity that you’d like to facilitate or co-facilitate please email an expression of interest, outlining your idea to: [email protected] by no later than Saturday 11th July.

We don’t need an exhaustive proposal, just an outline of what you’d like to do.

Tell us:

• The content of the event (themes, activity, duration)

• The location (must take place within the West Midlands region)

• Potential dates. The more dates you give us, the more likely we'll be able to programme it.(must take place between 22 Aug and 8 Nov)

• Any prior experience/previous work in this field

• Any assistance you may need

• Do you have public liability insurance? (this won’t rule you in or out, it will just inform how we insure the events)

• Are you willing/able to assist on one other event in the programme? Eg. doing head counts on a walk, ticking attendees off a list etc. All events will require a minimum of two Walkspace members present to facilitate and/or assist with the delivery. (again your answer won’t rule you in or out, we just need to get a sense of our capacity)

Note: we can’t guarantee that all expressions of interest will be accepted as we have limited capacity and resources but we’ll do our best.

Also note: if your activity requires an indoor venue you may need to organise this yourself.

Also also note: while we will be promoting through the usual Walkspace channels we’d really appreciate members using their own platforms to help promote the events.
